7/28/14 Update: I've lowered my 5-star to 4-star after using this a couple of times. I've found it very difficult to get my arms to align when closing the awning. I'm thinking that the forward end-cap maybe wider than the original, causing the misalignment. Looks like I need to go on the roof and see if I can widen the distance between the two awning mounting brackets. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Like others reported, one of my awning springs had broken. Of course, I found this out after unrolling the awning when camping and then needing to climb onto the roof to manually roll it back. I'm glad I no longer need to deal with the spring issue. This kit took about 30 minutes for the actual install and was really straightforward. Plan for an hour (watch videos, think it through, verify your steps, cleanup). As others mentioned, one end cap has 3 screws instead of the original 2. But that was no problem as the kit included self-tapping screws that easily bit into the aluminum roller tube. Tools needed: Small allen wrench to act as a cotter pin, power drill with Philips and square drivers. ... show more

Hindge on end cap at the crank end is not heavy duty enough .its about to brake after one yr .the arm is leaning like the arm is twisted and wont roll up strait

These awning tube end caps were extremely easy to install and work flawlessly. My wife can barely open a camper door much less lower/raise a spring type awning. These crank down/up end caps are perfect. She can do it with ease and if she can anyone can. Anyone will love them!
