First, the bed frame arrives in two boxes, and one of them is 75lbs+ so you will need a second person to help move the boxes around and put it together! When the boxes arrived, they arrived separately and both looked like they had been walked on and had boot prints all over them. The ends were damaged and I was very worried that the bed frame would be unusable and need to be returned. When we opened it up, it was very well packaged and there was only a minor bend on one of the corner metal connectors that was easily straightened. Installation was very simple, but for the California king size you will want a second person to help maneuver things into place. There are lots of wood slats that fit into place quickly and keep the mattress well supported. We have a VERY heavy spring coil mattress and there’s no wobble or sagging at all. I would recommend getting rubber pads for the feet if you have wood floors. There are actually 8 legs on this frame, each long middle beam has two solid and large legs. All 8 legs have small plastic feet on the bottom but they didn’t seem to be enough protection so I bought rubber pads. That also keeps the frame from moving and sliding around. For what I paid, this is an AMAZING bed frame. I love the look, how solid it is, and the height for my mattress is perfect without a box spring. We’ve been sleeping on it for two months now and it’s perfect.

UPDATED Aug 2020: please see update at the end of this review. I'm very pleased with the quality of this bedframe. I was a little concerned about the height off the floor for a platform bed but am happy to report it is at a very comfortable height. My mattress (10 inch deep) tops at around 22 inches off the floor. Aug 2020: I like my bed frame so much that I ordered another one. While it is the same listing and the bed looks the same at first glance, they are not equal. The new one came cracked, no problem, that happens. But it is nothing like the original. In the photos my old bed (full size) is the brown one, the new bed (queen size) is gray. Here's what I have observed: 1) The wood has not been treated with the same finish. Original has a satin finish, new has a rough texture that feels like there is nothing aside from a stain. 2) Original is heavier than the new, even though it's a smaller size bed. Listing said (originally) hard wood. New one's listed as pine. 3) The hardware is different. See photo. 4) The support is also different, with shorter pieces of wood on the end panel insides. (see the side by side photo) None of these changes makes it inherently bad, it's just I didn't feel the price matches the quality anymore. I am returning the new one. The return process has been good, they are being true to their word about a satisfaction guarantee.

I had a support ticket open with the seller and I was told that they had redesigned the bed to address customer complaints of damaged/broken beds and was assured the new design is an improvement. The one I purchased in 2019 was an XL in grey that is still going strong and I'm overweight... it had the center support with puzzle-like lock in wide slats. I bought an XL in natural at the end of 2024 and even though it shows the same build version in the photos as my 2019 one, this one has no center support, cloth binded slats, and different corner brackets. Photos of both beds are in review. I have confidence the new design will hold up just as well as the old one has.

The bed came quickly and arrived in two very large and heavy boxes. Upon opening, the frame and slats look like they’ve been stored in a warehouse for a long time. The slats even had dirty boot prints all over them. We took a few days getting them all cleaned and wiped down before assembling. Once we were ready to assemble, we realized the bed came with three middle support legs instead of four (one missing) and one leg was so poorly put together it wasn’t usable. After trying to contact customer support with not hearing back after two weeks, we finally built two new legs ourselves. After all that work, today, nearly 5 weeks after purchase, we put the bed together in about 10 minutes. The issue now is that the bed by design does not seem sturdy at all! Having a couple of cats that like to hang out under the bed I’m scared to lay on it with the chance of it falling on top of them. I would have returned this in a heartbeat, but the boxes are so big and heavy I have no way to get them to the post office—there’s no way they’re fitting in my car! Plus, with the lack of customer service so far, I doubt I’d ever see a refund to my account. Lesson learned—I will not be buying anything from this brand again.

We got the cal king and I just finished putting it together, which took all of about 15 mins with my 2 little kids holding the end pieces as I slid the sides in. Initial impressions could not be better. It is very well constructed. The finished pieces on the outside of the frame appear to be solid wood to me. The almond/oak finish matches my oak furniture perfectly. See my picture. The pictures in the description aren't very good. Everything is very solid and I was super impressed that the cal kind has two support beamss in the middle going from front to back with small slats in between them. These support beams are super heavy duty and the slats are actually very durable half inch plywood. We have a Tempurpedic mattress that was on a cheap metal frame and one of my goals was to get rid of the ugly mattress base pieces. After putting the bed together I dropped the mattress on the bed alone without the base pieces and it sits noticeably lower which I think is going to be an issue for my wife. So I'm thinking of going to the mattress store and purchasing the 2 inch ultra low base from Tempurpedic to bring it back up. But I'd be fine with it the way it is.
