I, like all Chevy volt owners cannot get a standard size hydraulic jack underneath their car. It just sits way too low. I resorted to a low profile jack and while it fits, seeing where it's lining up is difficult. That's where these little ramps come in. They get the front of my car off the ground just enough so that I have an easier time seeing jack placement. Really happy these exist and made rotating the tires yesterday, a lot less work. As an added bonus, we used these just today to level out our camp trailer. Normally I would use a whole bunch of the square Camco plastic risers that all lego into each other, but when you only have to rise one side of the trailer up just a few inches, these definitely do the trick. Now they are small and I would definitely never use these on bigger wheels, like on our pickup or an RV. But then again I can see underneath the pickup to know where the jack points are, so using these on a big rig seems dumb, so dumb, for real, so don't do that.

I'm going to compare this black set against another set of ramps I bought that I'll refer to as the orange ramps (Search Amazon for B0CXPNL3W9) For the price, these are great. They can raise your car up just a few inches, but are more safe than jacks and more sturdy than jack stands. (These are rated for over 3.5 tons, so they are definitely strong enough for most cars. The orange pair is actually rated for up to 10 tons since it's designed for RV's.) With a few inches of lift, it's enough to do basic things like oil changes or checking underneath to see what part of your exhaust is rattling. One thing I don't like about these is the limited feedback you have when you're actually up on them. I actually drove off the front edge twice before I got it right. Luckily that won't damage all but the lowest of cars since these are so short, so they're almost idiot proof. (No issues on a small Mazda 3, but maybe on those lowered tuner cars that scrape on curbs) The orange ramps have narrower but longer, deeper curved platforms, so the car rolls into it more controllably and I never drove off the edge of those. One place these beat the orange ramps is wheel traction. When only lifting the front, both ramp sets work fine, but I bought two sets thinking I would raise the whole car at once with all four ramps. With the orange pair in front, my drive tires slipped on the smooth ramp and couldn't bring the car up all four ramps at once. With the black ramps in front, my drive tires were able to grip them enough to bring the car up all four ramps at once. I never tried them in the rain, but I would assume this black pair would allow the tires to grip easier. It's a bit of a toss up. The orange ramps are more expensive, but they're easier to get up without driving off the front edge. The black ramps are cheaper and will get the job done with a little more caution, and grip better if it's wet or icy. I will probably use the orange set more, but I'm glad I have both so now I can raise the whole car at once. (With all four tires up a few inches I was able to slide under on a piece of cardboard and secure a rattling heat shield.)

These car ramps are incredibly sturdy and easily support the weight of my Toyota Avalon. My only issue, and it's not the seller's fault, is that they're too low for my car. The seller clearly states the height of the ramps, but my Avalon sits very low to the ground, and these don't provide enough clearance for me to comfortably crawl underneath and change the oil, which was my primary reason for purchasing them. I will say that they appear to be extremely well-built and undoubtedly capable of handling the advertised weight capacity. I'm just not sure why anyone would want ramps that only raise a vehicle 5 or 6 inches. I'm giving the product 5 stars because their exactly as advertised. Unfortunately they just don't fit my needs.

I purchased these due to the fact that we have a Toyota Tacoma and a Mazda and sometimes I just need to get into there and do something and getting out my rhino ramps or the fact that my wife drives over them and I’m afraid she’s going to break them and then I have to put the jack underneath the Support These low profiles are for quick oil changes. Just need a few more inches to squeeze underneath.
