I have a 2014 Nissan Murano. I could not find any way to use the supplied mounting equipment to put the screen in a good location. When I thought I found a spot that worked, the adhesive would not stick to my dash. I have hacked together 2 solutions that I really plan to clean up and I think I’ll be happy with this unit. First solution was a bent tin shape double taped in front of the Murano screen. Very stable, but the downside is that you lose the functions of the screen (temperature settings, backup camera). Second option, bent tin shape stuck in the (have not used it for years) DVD slot. I’m going to go with this. It’s not super stable, but it doesn’t cover anything I use and it’s handy. I’m planning to 3d print or otherwise fabricate a cleaner version of the DVD slot holder for the long term. Now that it’s in my car, I really like it. I originally used the bluetooth connection to the car, but it was a little flaky . Once everything woke up, I’d have to turn off the radio, then turn it back on to get the sound from the head unit to the car. I switched to using a cable to the AV input of the Murano and it is much better. It wakes up and plays Bottom line. There was no way I’d spend the money upgrade the existing built in screen to CarPlay in a 9 year old car, but I expect to get good value from this stand-alone unit and I’ve really enjoyed it so far.

I bought this since my car is too old for Apple Car Play. I love using my cellphone's map as GPS and it does link up nicely and show on a bigger screen. Home run here! The sound quality is poor, however. It sounds like a tin can so when you try to hear the directions, it will not play over the radio so the radio needs to be turned down or off. The sound is much better through the bluetooth on the car so I don't sync my phone. My car's speakers are far superior. So, would I have purchased it knowing this? Probably not, in fact, I uninstalled it and now it's on my workbench in my garage. If this doesn't matter to you, then it is a nice add on and does work.

I would say get the wireless version. I grabbed the cheapest model which honestly looks a little tacky because the cords. I've had some issues with spotify but that may just be the spotify app. Not too sure. Also I've seen videos on YouTube where the USB port is used to connect phone. Mine needs a type c cord which was fine if you have android but if you have an iPhone then you will need an adapter or an iPhone type c cord. Overall I still don't regret my purchase and I'm happy but I should have purchased the wireless version

My 2007 Mini wasn't wired for Bluetooth or satellite radio. With this handy device, I now have Apple Car Play in my car. And I can also listen to satellite radio through the Sirius XM app on my iPhone. I connect my phone and then plug it into the auxiliary stereo port. Everything comes through the car stereo now, including the phone calls! This is the easiest, most budget friendly solution for those looking to upgrade their car stereos. I LOVE this thing!!!

I got this for my 2015 Honda Pilot which does not have CarPlay and there is really no way to add it given that the display is integrated into the AC controls. This solution is really great. Almost perfect. The one thing that I wish it had was automatic dimming based on ambient lighting. It has a button that you can click on the main menu that switches from day to night, but it is not super convenient (it is tiny) and you cannot customize the brightness of the night mode vs the day mode. Even a small physical brightness dimmer would be a HUGE improvement. But otherwise the device is great. The screen has good colors and the resolution is better than my 7" CarPlay system in my newer Hyundai. It does what it is supposed to do - adds CarPlay to my old car and it has really freshened up the experience of driving it. I can hold down the home button on the screen to engage Siri and ask for songs or directions. on my 2015 Pilot I use a CD mount to hold this thing up and it puts it in the perfect spot to reach and see it. I did not use the arm that comes with it. I am using it with an AUX connection to my car stereo and the audio quality is better than when my phone was connected to bluetooth. I still connect my phone to bluetooth with the car and the phone calls come in through the factory system so I use the factory microphone and the steering wheel buttons to answer or end calls. CarPlay also shows the call details on the screen and you can click there to answer or end calls. The price is a little high but frankly this little device will probably end up making me keep my old car longer. It is a great upgrade.

This product works perfectly fine i just found that it was only useful for going to places i havent been road trip etc but also you can just use your phone with mount🤔 if you drive alot it could be worth it

My vehicle is equipped with Birds Eye View, but does not support Car Play. Has been something I have been trying to 'fix' for a long time. I found an integrated solution that might work for $1K and decided to try this less aggressive and less expensive approach first. There are only two negatives I can give you. 1) the wires look a little 'janky' running down the dash. 2) The unit doesn't seem to auto-dim very well at night. But using car play you can enable dark mode at night and that seems to be good enough. I have it plugged into the aux audio input of the stereo and it works exactly like you would imagine it should work.
