The right way to care for and carry a Zero Tolerance folding knife collection, the ZT Knife Storage Case (ZT997) safely secures and accommodates 18 different knives within the strong nylon case. The perfect, ideal sized case is available in basic black with the blue ZT logo embossed on a black faux- leather patch on the middle-front. Made for full size folders
This is the one you want. Very well made. It’s very similar to the Kershaw version but the ZT has larger internal knife slots. I fit a full size Strider in one of the slots with no issues. Mine bag has traveled all over the States in the side case of my Harley and still looks great.

A decent option for folding knife storage with one major flaw
This is a well made, heavy duty, soft case for storing folding knives. It is apparently exactly the same thing as the Kershaw case, so I went with the ZT version because at the time I bought mine the ZT branded case was priced lower than the Kershaw version. It has one major flaw, which is that the center flap that is supposed to hold 8 knives (4 on each side) doesn't have large enough pockets to allow folders to be stored on each side (as noted by other reviewers). Putting a folding knife on one side causes it to bulge into the pocket on the other side and make it un-useable. This makes the case storage for 14 modern folding knives - not 18. If you are storing very small folders like old fashioned pocket knives or something the size of an Opinel #8 you can squeeze in more knives in the center flaps, but that isn't noted by the manufacturer. I needed storage for 18 knives so now need to buy an additional organizer of some sort.

Truly beautiful and practical set
Over the years I've purchased a lot from Amazon, this knife set is one of my all time favorite buys. I will not review the individual knives here, but to say that they are beautifully crafted, and very sharp. Check out the reviews on each of the individual knives for owner feedback. Some have European style blades (sharpened on 2 edges) some are Japanese with single edges. All are nicely balanced and made in Japan. As for the set, consider the assortment. Many 9 piece sets give you an odd assortment of mostly small knives along with cheap scissors, an ugly block, and a throw away steel hone. This set, as the photo shows, has 7 well chosen knives, a beautifully finished bamboo block (the same one in the Shun sets) and a full size whetstone. So far as I can tell, the whetstone (KAI model AP-0305) is not otherwise available in the U.S., but it uses well chosen 400/1000 grit. Equivalent stones sell for about $60 on Amazon. I have not owned them long enough to report on long term wear, they have wood handles so should be hand washed, but expect them to provide excellent service for many years.

There is no flaw, some people are just dumb
This is an excellent soft case that does what it says it will do. The people who are saying the center section will only hold 4 knives need to pull the 4 knives they have in it, turn them around, and put the clips on the OUTSIDE of the sleeve. I have 8 knives in the center pouch, all are at least medium sized with a few large ones, (Amalgam, GB2, Tropen) and there is no issue whatsoever. They sit tight and aren't banging into each other or the outside pouches, it's completely fine if you just use your head. A very well made product, but evidently not idiot proof. I guess it could have included pictures or instructions, but damn guys. Figure it out.

Decent case, mid flap storage a bit small
Loaded up with some of my knife collection. Doesn't take up much room which I like but the mid section storage flap could have bigger slots. It is double sided for storing knives but unless they are thin, it is hard to load up the mid section with knives on both sides.
