I have to admit, I am always a bit skeptical about reviews that rave about how nice something is. This lamp is a very, very pleasant surprise! QUITE beautiful, seemingly well made and definitely worth the price. Colors are as pictured online, easy to assemble, and the stained glass is REAL glass :-) I am sure there are flaws -- somewhere -- but I can't find them. I will am ordering another one! ... show more

The colors in the shade and base look nice. Craftsmanship is good except for one side of the base that seems to have some glue? bubbles attaching vertical neck with base. But ultimately impressive.

    • Gorgeous GLASS (not plastic)
I've bought seven of these Mission-style lamps so far (including this one) and they’re all beautiful. They are obviously made by the same factory (for different brands). For example, this Chloe table lamp uses the exact same wood and glass as similar style Capulina lamps. Some reviewers think the shades are made of plastic, but they are definitely glass. They just sound like plastic when you tap on them. That's why newer Chloe lamps in this same style now come with a small piece of the stained glass and a note that reads "Sample Stained Glass: Why does it look and sound like plastic? The stained glass pieces are wrapped with copper foil then soldered together with the soldering iron. Copper foil and soldering will deaden the sound making it sound like plastic. Soldering is done at an ideal temperature of around 300 degrees. At 300 degrees the plastic will melt. Feel free to try to melt this glass sample." The newer Chloe lamps also include cleaning instructions for the glass: "Please us a lemon oil-based furniture polish on a soft cloth, then wipe art glass gently. DO NOT USE AMMONIA."
