The caveat to this review is that I have no idea what this product would have cost in the 'before times'. But given what's been available and the price hikes, this is really quite a nice set. Nice enough that I bought a second after receiving the first. Why two? Because based on the weights you get, with two sets you can have paired dumbbells in increments going from (lbs) 4, 10, 16, 19, 25, 31, 34, 40, and 46. You can also rig a single dumbbell up to at least 76 lbs. So that's pretty good value given what these would have cost individually, assuming you could even get them. Having two also means more than one person in the house can be working out and there will be less changing out of weights overall. Some of the reviews mentioned that the tightening rings can loosen. Noticed this a bit, but it hasn't been an issue, consistent with other reviews. Everything was new, well packaged, and in perfect condition. All parts present and accounted for. Also, both times the packages came extremely quickly - just a few days. Hoping I can now psych myself up sufficiently to use them a lot! Motivation in the time of covid is fleeting. ... show more

No complaints here. I did have an issue with one of the collars not threading onto the bar but I contacted the manufacturer and they sent out a replacement right away.

    • Adequate but EXPEN$IVE to supplement with more weight

Seems high quality but it has drawbacks. The claimed weight per dumbbell is wrong: it’s actually 24.4 pounds. Why lie about this? Additional plates are VERY EXPENSIVE- and that’s if you can find them at all. A set of four 5 lb weights currently costs $100 including shipping on Amazon!!! Ridiculous - don’t buy those here; look on Eb*y and pay half that. The end cap screw rings don’t stay tight and have to be tightened after almost every set. That’s a real pain. This seems like something that could be solved with a rubber ring between the screw ring and the outside plates. The chrome bars are very long - good for adding additional weight but it makes these awkward to use. I’d rather have the shorter bars BUT pre-equipped with some 10 lb weights rather than the odd 7.5 lb ones these come with, AND more reasonably priced add-on weights. I use 5lb wrist straps to much more cheaply add weight to make each barbell closer to 30 lbs, and ordered four 5 lb weights on the Eb*y for about $49 so that total weight of each barbell can be almost 40 lbs., and there will be more than enough room to add 4 more. Very frustrating, expensive and time consuming shopping experience to cobble something together that can reach almost 50 lbs. ... show more

I needed a set to get started with. It’s hard to make it all the way to the gym...and if I’m watching tv I can just pick these up and do a few curls every now and then. Really helpful. They are easy to switch weights in and out, and if you are cool with doing one arm at a time then you could add all the weights on one and basically have a dumbbell that goes up to nearly 50 pounds (minus the 4 pound bar), without having to spend all the money of buying 2, 50 pound dumbbells, which would cost twice as much. Instead just do one arm at a time and save half the money. ... show more

The dumbell bar diameter on my 50lb set was 20% undersize. The plates don't lock in securely and the grip is dangerously undersized. Emailed CAP talking about the problem and they send replacements... that were exactly the same size. I have previously bought cap dumbells and they had properly sized bars. It is fairly difficult to find weights right now as more people work out from home. This is a reasonable price for weights that can be adjusted. The range works for a variety of workouts for light lifting or heavier lifting (you can always purchase more plates later to up the weight if desired). Customer service was also fantastic. The items were either not packaged properly, or damaged during shipping, and was missing the spin caps. You are purchasing weights... the packaging is going to be heavy and damaged no matter what. I notified their customer service and received the missing pieces within a couple of days. Thank you!! Would definitely purchase from this seller again! ... show more
