Save your money and buy this portable lightweight camping fireplace. You don’t need that much firewood. I only used a 3 hour log that i cut into pieces, and it already gave me this much fire. Very easy to set up and was able to cook breakfast! Will recommend!!

Sometimes tedious especially in windy climates but it beats carrying a small canister( aka: high pressure bomb) with poisonous gas any day. People, especially Americans, need to stop living on convenience and speed. Aside from traditional thinking, it’s one of our environments biggest enemies. Unrewarded/ unaffiliated review. Very fun backyard project. I have fried an egg in a cast iron pan, brought a small pan of water to a boil over this, and roasted countless marshmallows. Neat way to have a tiny fire for fun in the backyard. Getting fire started in this and maintaining it take A LOT of practice. It’s definitely not smokeless when you’re getting it started. Does eventually get smokeless when it really gets going. Does cover all pans and itself in black soot. I have not tried with the gel fuel, but love having that option. Not going to be your go to cooker for a family. Does emit some heat for patio setting, but not much. It’s a fun gadget that has provided us HOURS of outside entertainment.

I have used this stove a few times now and find that it works great for heating water and food during camping trips. It is really nice to be able to get a hot meal and some coffee by just scrounging some twigs and using with this stove.

This was the lowest cost camp stove of many that are very similar or identical. However, the stove is of good quality and assembles easily. Using twigs that have fallen out of my backyard trees and very little alcohol I was able to get the stove burning quickly. I don't think I needed the alcohol, but it made lighting easy. I had a small deep pan (about two cups of coffee size) of water boiling in about 2 minutes. The stove isn't smokeless, but does a pretty good job of keeping the smoke at a minimum. There will be soot on the bottom and possibly the side of the pan so don't use anything the better half will get angry about turning into a camping pan when you test the stove. The embers that are at the bottom of the stove stay very hot for some time after I removed the boiling pan of water. The feed opening in the side of the pan stand is plenty large enough to continually feed wood through. I brought the pan of water up to full rolling boil several times just by adding some twigs. I'm pleased with the stove, and it'll come in handy when I do some overnight camping in my ultralight. The light weight of the stove and that it uses wood that can be found almost anywhere makes this an excellent stove for camping, removing the need to carry fuel.
