I've used every brand of hair detangler on my kids. I've tried generic to top name expensive brands. But this one is the best. The price is really good and you get a fairly decent sized bottle. Its also a traditional spray bottle that seems to work well and doesn't get clogged up. The scent of this stuff is very pleasant. I use this stuff in conjunction with their after wash conditioner and it is a great combo. My daughters hate having their hair brushed and always have tangles and rats. I've recently started using this and brushing their hair isn't as much of a fight. It gets the tangles out and doesn't leave it greasy looking. But most of all it smells so good.     • The smell is a light scent. It's not sticky or heavy even on dry hair.
I have been looking for so long for an awesome product.. I typically do not write reviews. However this is AMAZING!! I am in my 30s and I have 3 daughters that I have fought with over there hair.. my girls and myself have wavy and tight curls. My 8 year old daughter with the tight curls has always had dry and brittle hair. I have tried many many products between all of us.. I got this product today and I used it on my 8 year old today I was absolutely amazed.. the smell is wonderful and light. My daughters hair was dry when I used this. I sprayed ALOT in her hair. Her hair after I brushed it through is so soft and shiny. There is no more frizz, no more tangles. Just soft beautiful shiny hair. It's not heavy. Even dry its beyond soft. There is no sticky residue. It's not weighting her hair down at all.. She has very curly fine thin dry brittle hair. Its medium length. I will definitely be buying this product for life.     • Spray is awkward, but still a great product.
I would definitely recommend you spray directly on the brush, rather than the hair. It comes out more like a stream than a spray. Either way it smells great and works great for my son's 3A curly hair. I love Cantu products and purchased the kids' shampoo and conditioner to go with it and his hair is soft and bouncy. Doesn't leave a crunchy product build up and washes out at bath time. ... show more

This detangler is magic. I live in an extremely dry climate and have long, curly/wavy hair that needs a trim. My hair mats easily especially in the back of my neck and it’s nearly impossible to get them out without a lot of pulling, brushing, and combing (plus all the products and oils). Used this product on a particularly bad hair day and it cut my brushing “ritual” in half. It smells light and fresh my hair is super soft and the meanest tangles have been tamed. I have purchased hair creams, conditioners, leave in sprays that are 10x the price and they don’t hold a candle to this product! ... show more

I found this detangler to be sticky and not very helpful for getting out tangles. I could overlook the lack of detangling ability if it at least smelled good. But the scent is just ok. I tried it on my own hair to see if it was better for adults and it wasn't. Still sticky and not good for getting out tangles. ... show more

My whole family has dark, thick, straight asian hair—Except my 2 year old who somehow is a curly blonde. Where I can just run a quick comb through everyone else, the baby’s hair would just knot and frizz so I knew I had to learn to treat her hair differently. Other detanglers were ineffective at defrizzing or had odors so strong we were coughing. The Cantu has a pleasant scent, and not only makes a wide tooth comb go through her curls effortlessly, but after a quick scrunch with my hand, keeps her curls defined and not frizzy.
