I like white noise. But this thing has a horrible high pitched noise and sounds like the fan in it is misaligned. I hate it. I think the humidifier portion of it works well, but I absolutely hate the noise it makes. It gives me a headache.

    • don't buy this humidifier
Color: White
Don't buy this humidifier unless you plan to run it 24/7. Even if you switch it off, using the buttons across the top, it automatically switches itself back on again. And if you unplug it to prevent that happening, the filter inside dries out and goes brown and crusty so that when you switch it back on again, it fails to soak water up to where the fan can evaporate it. Plus it is way too noisy to sleep with on anything but the lowest setting, and that is ineffective, here in the high desert of New Mexico, barely raising the humidity by 1 or 2 degrees. Plus if you have it on at night (bedside, as it is called, and presumably designed to be) there is a strange glow light, so I had to sleep with my back to it. Altogether a waste of $150. Unfortunately it took me a while to work out what was happening with the switching off thing, and now I am past the window where Amazon will let me return it. I am going to try contacting Canopy direct to see if they will take it back. ... show more
