My adult son assembled this for me last night. He was beyond impressed with this Kodiak product. In addition, he repeatedly complimented the packaging -body parts, yes, but especially the hardware, which, as you can see in the first image, was perfectly organized. It assembled much more quickly than he expected. He said the product was extremely well made. His only feedback was to be sure to have a rubber mallet for all steps, not just towards the end. Instructions state 2 people required for assembly. It was only myself, you make do. Instruction video on youtube is excellent. Packaged well, good hardware, nice wood and a thick mattress. Great value for the price - good-looking, solid wood, nicely finished. While there was quite a bit of assembly required, every piece was labeled and the expanded diagrams were detailed and accurate. My husband put this together in a little over two hours, only needing my help at the very last step. Lifting the seating surfaces into the frame and getting the rollers into their respective slots is definitely a two person job. Once the frame is assembled and all bolts tightened, itโ€™s very sturdy and the roller mechanism to convert from sofa to bed and back again can be easily operated by one person. The sofa does not need to be moved away from the wall in order to open into a bed, which is super convenient. The mattress is decent - though not quite as thick as advertised. Weโ€™ll see how it holds up. There seems to be enough padding over the springs, but Iโ€™m not sure what being folded into a sofa will do to its supportive quality as a bed. The upholstery fabric does not continue on the back side, so clearly the mattress is not meant to be flipped, which is a shame because that could extend its life. Instead of the linen-like upholstery, the back is covered with a plush faux suede - maybe to help it resist slippage on the frame? I am glad to report there was no funky smell or off-gassing from the mattress, which seems to bear out its claim to contain US CertiPUR foam and cotton padding. All in all, this futon makes a very good first impression! ... show more

Comfortable, well made, parts all well labeled, but advise watch the video while looking at the directions, and definitely need two people to assemble.

I was surprised how decent this piece of furniture is. The mattress is a good quality mattress but is very firm. The one down side is itโ€™s a little bit of a struggle to get it back in an upright position mainly because the mattress is firm. Overall good quality for the price.

Very easy to assemble, took 30 minutes start to finish. Quality is pretty good but the mattress or cushion is uncomfortable after a while of sitting.
