    • Very annoying noise, but very Good quality printing

Overall good printer. Super easy to set up, all computers In the house printing with the wireless functionality. Vary similar to the old pixma that lasted 10 years. The only thing I really dislike is the very loud noise it makes when is getting ready to print and turn off. The noise is not during the printing process, is just the set up. Previous pixma we had would do the same but the noise was barely noticeable. This one is so loud I can hear it from other rooms in the house. It gets very annoying. I do like that the tray for printed work opens automatically if you forget to pull it out. The old one did not, so papers would en on the floor... Before powering off, it asks you to confirm if you want to close the tray and reminds you to remove your work. If you hit no, then it stays open so your work doesn’t get damaged. It weights a lot less and takes on a lot less space than the older pixma version we had. I was very happy about that. Printing quality is very good, just like the old one. Ink price is reasonable (other brands were ridiculously expensive). Do note we use it for printing school work as needed and family pictures (we bought photo paper) because I love sending pics to family and friends that live in other countries. I don’t see this as a printer for high volume printing. It is great for what we need. But if you have a need for high volume output with long lasting ink (lower cost per page), then I would not recommend. This is my third Canon printer. It's the only brand I'll buy. I have light home office duties for the printer, so it is perfect. I've had larger Canon printers in the fax that included fax, CD label printing, and ADF but they were large. But they've always lasted a good 6 years. This is a more basic printer/scanner. I got it to go with my iMac. Unfortunately my old Canon printer doesn't work with Mac although it is still perfectly good after 6 years. So yes, it's a bit noisy, but it was easy to set up with a wireless connection. Really easy. I did use a youtube video because the included instructions were only for windows. It prints fine, its doesn't require a lot of space like my other Canon and I like the fact that it's white. I've only had it for a week. I am a fan of the separate colored ink cartridges. I have not printed photos yet, but Canon has always done a great job with photos with my other two Canon printers, so I imagine this will do a nice job, too. It is easy to use with the Air Print feature. I would recommend this printer to a friend. ... show more

It’s light, easy to set up and relatively simple to figure out. Good out put , still testing colors. I had problems connecting to my computer… computer’s fault not printer.. and tech service was excellent. It’s not as solid as my old Eco tank but this is much better for my purposes. Will keep testing and probably go to 5 stars ... show more

I took a long time (couple months) trying to find a decent printer under $80 that didn't come with any strings attached - no auto enrolled inks (mhh hp) - no paying per page - something I can print from my phone that works - off brand compatible inks - brand inks that dont cost more than the printer I landed on this one while there was a mix of reviews I am happy with it after set up and 3 prints. It was very user friendly to set up with my phone, i got confused putting the ink in but got it figured out. Everything worked as it should and I printed my first photo shown on the printer. Looks identical to the digital photo. Ink is affordable and the test ink didnt run out yet after 3 pages. I cant speak to how it will be in a few weeks or months but so far I'm so happy. ... show more

Uses 5 ink cartridges to print in color and b&w. Has performed well for me and links thru Wi-Fi to my I pad for printing. Paper tray capacity is fairly large.

I find this printer relatively easy to use. I’m not the most tech savvy, but I was able to set it up on my own. The front screen is small, and the scrolling menu isn’t always intuitive, but is manageable with a bit of trial and error. I love the two-sided feature! It pulls the paper back in & prints on the back side without effort. Wonderful for saving paper. I also love the ease of printing off my phone! The only feature I would prefer is that this printer does not turn on automatically as my old Canon printer did, but has to be turned on manually before beginning a printing job. All-in-all, I feel like the printing quality is very good, & the above mentioned features make it a strong recommend. ... show more

Why do the stars only as about photo quality and the touch screen? No wonder it has such a high rating!!! Not to mention all of the FAKE reviews!!! I give this 4 stars on picture/print quality ONLY and NEGATIVE stars on everything else!!! There are sooo many things I HATE about this printer. 1) it looks and feels cheap! 2) NO INSTRUCTIONS!!! You have to download the instructions. I do NOT want to read off my phone!!! No thank you! I want a PAPER BOOKLET. 3) picture quality is pretty good, WHEN IT WANTS TO PRINT. You finally get it to print a page (which takes FOREVER) and it will not print again. It keeps saying to load paper, which is still loaded the same as it was for what was just printed!!! Then it takes another hour to receive the data, and then another hour of sounding like it is going to print, then “load paper” again! 4) the tray that catches the paper is automatic, which at first seemed pretty cool. After fighting with the machine trying to get it to print and having it go in and come back out over and over it gets really annoying, really quick! 5) With perfectly aligned paper it still grabs multiple sheets at a time (when it finally chooses to even attempt to grab paper...did I mention it wont print?). DO NOT BUY!!! This thing will cause extreme frustration and anger. It is NOT worth it! I was so close to throwing it against a wall...I have never been this frustrated over a printer!!! I have already started the return process....😡😡😡 ... show more
