Easy to set up and use.
Style: With Auto Document Feeder
I haven't used this printer much yet but based on the few things I have printed, I am very happy with it. Set up was incredibly easy. I removed it from the box and in just 20 minutes it was set up, connected to wifi and I was able to copy, scan and print. A few years ago I had a Canon printer but was convinced by friends to give the Epson multi tank printer a try. It worked for a few months then only printed in blue. It was much more expensive than this printer. The Canon Pixma TR7820 is a good size, not too bulky and cumbersome. So far it seems to be a good buy. ... show more

Reliable printer
Style: With Auto Document Feeder
I love this printer! Very straightforward and easy instructions from the screen. No bulky manual to read which I like because I’m a minimalist person who is very busy. I have no problem connecting it to my laptop (Lenovo) and 2 phones (iPhone and Samsung) for family use. Been using HP long before but there are a lot of subscriptions for a better product/service which I found exhausting so I switch to Canon. The product came in good condition. The only minimal downside is that you can’t multitask while using your phone in printing, else it will be interrupted and canceled. But overall, I highly recommended this printer! ... show more

Love-Hate relationship
Style: With Auto Document Feeder
1. When it is working, this printer does very well. The Scan feature is much more sophisticated than my old HP 4-in-1 device. In most ways it is user-friendly. And I repeat, when it is working- or more precisely, when it is connected to my PC. 2. The setup did not go smoothly and took much longer and more effort than previous printers I have owned. 3. Repeatedly this printer goes “off line” and says there is no connection to WiFi. I have a good WiFi-Router and our TV has no problems receiving it or staying connected to it four rooms away.. This printer is sitting next to the WiFi router and can’t seem to stay connected. It takes up WAY too much of my time getting it re-connected so that I can print something. 4. If I had to use one word to describe this printer, I would say, “annoying.” 5. I probably WOULD NOT buy this printer again knowing what I know now. I should have paid more attention to those reviewers who warned me that this printer had problems staying connected to WiFi. 6. I almost NEVER write negative reviews and I waited nearly two months before I wrote this. I am pretty tech-savvy and I am about 98% certain problems with this printer are not my fault. Addendum October 20, 2024: I probably would give this printer just one star now. Recently it insisted on updating the software. I should have refused. It took me over an hour to get it reconnected to my desktop and printing normally. The printer has slipped from the irritating to the maddening category. In retrospect (everything is 20/20 in the rearview mirror), I should have tried harder to get a printer with both a Wi-Fi AND a hard-wired connection. Like my old printer. Also I should have paid more attention to the reviewers who mentioned how expensive the ink is for this printer… my bad. 2nd addendum August 20, 2025: I have now downgraded my rating to one star. This printer worked reasonably well for a few days or weeks at a time and it is now back to its old tricks. The worst of which is in inability to stay connected to my desktop PC. I spent 45 minutes trying to get it reconnected last night. I think it is time to throw in the towel and get another printer. This one is not heavy enough to use for a boat anchor and is too bulky to use as a doorstop... It has now entered the category of worthless piece of dung. ... show more

Nice All-in -One if You Don’t Mind high Ink Cost
Style: With Auto Document Feeder
Bought as a replacement for an obsolete PIXMA model - prefer Canon models over others. Very compact design compared to previous model. Everything about this printer screams “awesome” except for one thing. Learned the ink cost is expensive as the two Canon ink cartridges cost between $60-$90, combined, to replace. Plus, was not able to find generic replacement ink. Notwithstanding the ink cost, was willing to keep it until I learned the ADF does not do automatic duplex scanning - contrary to what Rufus, the Amazon Bot, advised when I asked it before purchasing. This was a deal breaker for me. Figured if I hand to settle on a device without auto duplex scanning, I prefer a device with lower ink costs via available generic ink cartridges. Otherwise, an excellent buy. ... show more

Scanner will Not Work
Style: With Auto Document Feeder
I just wanted everyone to know that the scanner will not scan now...I am looking at buying another printer. This was not what I was hoping for. Very disappointed. It has actually been unable to scan for three months. Also, five months ago it stopped printing front and back. Both of these issues have given me a great deal of grief with my fall and spring courses that I teach. Twana Scalf ... show more

Always take the time reading instrucrions.
Style: With Auto Document Feeder
Great Performing printer so far. I don't know what its been the issue with some negative reviews here. But i think is more of user error. Many people don't bother to familiarize themselves with the instructions broklets and go straight to turn on the printer. I havent had connectivity issues or jammed paper. I dont over load the cassette. Plus backing up the connectivity, all i add is that as part of the enegy saving feature. The printer will eventually turn off. So if you are off site,, either save what you wanted to print or De activate energy Power saving..for the printer to remain in standby mode and connected.. Print Quality. Gorgeous output compated to my two HP envys. I am amazed how it can print great images in way less time than my other 2. So my Veredict is great unit, user friendly. People simply need to read instructions more. ... show more

Great features
Style: With Auto Document Feeder
Great features (scan/copy/print) with automatic document feeder for a budget printer. Ink is a bit pricey though. The duplex scan/printing function is convenient and useful. WiFi pairing is relatively easy and quick. The print quality is good for both black and white and color prints, even photos.

4 hours to connect to WI FI !!
Style: With Auto Document Feeder
I have been using HP printers for many years. The one I had before the Canon, was good for 3 years. I decided to give Canon a chance as it got good reviews for printing from phones. A 1 page document with 3 pictures and a brief description, essentially nothing of value. Loaded cartridges and paper with no issue. Then the network set up and for that alone, it deserves 1 star. I have set up printers and other components for many years and this was the 1st time i wanted to throw it. Make sure to add the Mopria app plug in. It takes a boatload of ink to print 3 pages. I am keeping it, but won't buy again. ... show more
