Works fine with the Canon 200-800 RF. A little slow at 1600mm F18, but perfectly fine in bright sunlight shooting 1/1000th. Sharpness looks good on both the R7 and R5MarkII. Stabilization works but at 1600mm it still has a bit of movement even with stabilization on. A little bitter pill to swallow concerning the price, but it's really well made. With the current cost of lens, the price is in line. I do miss the EF 1.4 and 2x prices though. The paint doesn't seem to match the same tone as the 200-800's paint scheme. ... show more

Does an awesome job, but a bit on the expensive side. Compared to other brands, this one cost more and there isn't a lot of science behind it. But it is good quality and does what it does, making a 400mm do 800mm. Just know a few things! It'll be half the f-stop, twice the shake, the image stabilization will not be as good, and you are going to think about ISO more. That said, I've had a lot of fun being able to reach twice as far. I inherited an old SX60 with about a 1300 mm zoom and started shooting hummingbirds just for fun to see the colors up close. Those guys are teeny tiny, and I had to fill the frame with the bird to preserve the resolution, or details from cropping. Then I bought a new R5 and the 200-800. Then I couldn't fill the frame with a hummingbird. I felt disappointed with the graininess after cropping. BUT WOW, now at 1600 I can fill the frame with flaming neon feathers. Now the resolution is super satisfying. The package arrived the next day and I ripped open the box, grabbed my R5 and 200-800 snapped in the new 2X and RAN out the back door to the yard and started creating the most detailed, crisp, satisfying images of my life. Ai Autofocus still finds their eyes. So, I've finally improved on that compact little Powershot SX-60 with increased resolution I was looking for with this 2x adapter extender! I love it, and I'm super happy with this 2x extender. I feel like a little boy on Christmas morning. You do have to hand-zoom after subject acquisition, and body movement is alarming to wildlife. Focus is still a challenge that's fun to overcome even with the new Ai-like AF. But wow... just wow. ... show more

Works great. It took a little getting used to. I'm still very new to photography, but I've been pleased with the results so far. Linked images are taken using Canon's rf 100-400mm lens.

It does exactly what its specs says. It doubles the magnification with good clarity and the necessary doubling of the f-stop. It is well worth the cost.

Works fine with my lens, including with auto focus. Was expecting the worse due to an extender bought for my other camera that changes the lens into manual focus only
