I love this camera. I've been a longtime fan of canon rebel SLR. I was worried the digital model wouldn't live up to its predecessor. My worries were unfounded. Everything about this camera is wonderful. Easy to figure out (even for an old lady like me). I recommend spending several days with the camera just trying out all the features and functions before using it for an important event, because there are so many enhancements and possibilities. You COULD just put it on auto and get fantastic pictures, but then what would be the point of buying a camera with so many great features? The lenses included in this bundle are all great. The 500mm, I didn't think I'd use, but it's been so fun taking pics of the moon. It takes time to get used to the light balance if you are used to film cameras, so practice with it if that's how you started. If you started on digital cameras, you won't have any problems. The camera bag is too small to hold everything that comes with it, so if you want to take everything with you, get a bigger bag. The bag isn't waterproof, either. Just water resistant. So a good, large, waterproof camera bag is a good additional purchase. You can't go wrong with this bundle. I was so nervous buying something this expensive online, but I'm so happy I bought it.Included a few photos I've taken with it since buying it in June. The moon is with 500mm lens, manual setting w/250 shutter speed (on tripod using the included shutter cord/button). The other pics are in Colorado. ... show more

I bought this for my husband who is getting back into photography after about 20 years. We usually use our iPhones when we travel for photos but the quality is never as good as Apple advertises unless you want to spend hours photoshopping you pictures. Yes this is an older model but if has great flexibility as it takes high quality photos and will record video in full 1080p HD. There are plenty of presets to point and shoot a variety of photos as well as full manual control for the more advanced photographers. There is a long list of accessories that come in this package and I won’t go into them. The two smaller lenses are Canon the telephoto lenses is an off brand but appears to be well made. If you are looking for a starter setup I highly recommend this package. One recommendation I do make is to buy a camera backpack as the bag that comes with this package does not hold everything. ... show more

I purchased this camera set for a trip to Alaska. I was very pleased with how easy it was to use this camera and loved the pictures it took. I do have some trouble using the telescope lens, and they do offer other packages so if that's something you don't need, you may want to chose a package with a different lens. I use this camera all the time living in the woods for wildlife pictures and they are professional quality. It did come with a lot of extras and I haven't used some of them. However, I shopped around for this specific camera and this price couldn't be beat. I even went to a store to look at this exact camera before purchasing and the store's price just for the camera and a small lens was more than this whole package. Every thing works perfectky! Worth every penny. So I went to YouTube twice, because I was too lastly to read the users manual and lack patience. I watched a video on getting started, that showed all the buttons on the camera and the second video was how to set both the zoom lens to 32 to get me started. All I had to do with the zoom then was focus the end of it. Well treacherous crystal clear shots, zoom gets me closer to the critters, and the negation gets me crater shots of the moon. This camera is also lighter then the cannon Seri had in the 90's and I also YouTube's how to use the Bluetooth Wi-Fi with my phone to remotely take photos and receive them for Facebook. Anywho, I'm more patient these days and technology is easier, so I'm a happy camper. Thank you for your service. ... show more

    • Great package if you know what you’re doing or you’re willing to learn
This package has all sorts of extras, including some things I’ll probably never use. The only thing notably missing is a 2nd rear lens cap. I’ll have to order another one separately. I wouldn’t recommend this camera for casual users. The “automatic” mode has been more than a little frustrating. It takes forever to auto-focus even after changing some settings. Sometimes it makes all the sounds of snapping a photo but then you go to look at how it turned out and there is no photo. I have a lot of experience with 35mm film SLR cameras and so it didn’t take long to learn to use the manual options. I really like Shutter Priority mode (TV) for moving objects and Aperture Priority mode (AV) for still shots. I keep this camera set to manual focus at all times. Take some practice shots to get the correct ISO and this camera can get really great photos! ... show more

    • Easiest Camera to Take a Variety of Photos
This camera is basically idiot proof. It has settings for different types of picture types. My camera is generally set on sports mode, but I have taken portrait photos and landscape photos. The bundle comes with light filters and screens, which allow you to control the amount of light coming into the lens. This is awesome for Friday Night Lights photos. I also love the two different lenses that come in the bundle. They make taking photos super easy based on your distance from the subject and how up close and personal you want to be. If you are a manual reader as I am, you can make your photos even crisper by adjusting the shutter speed. This is accomplished by knowing which small dial to turn. The autofocus feature is also nice. I purchased this bundle as a graduation gift for my niece who will be pursuing a career in photography. She has a good basic camera that I got her previously, but I felt it was a good time for an upgrade with some add ons. This was perfect. Watching her open it was very gratifying.
