  • Probably my favorite Cannon, EOSR camera I've used so far
Style: EOS R6 V w/ RF20-50mm F4 L is USM PZ Lens
I have so much I can say about this Canon EOSR6V and the first would be that it is an absolute fantastic camera, and I mean that in all respect and all regards from the settings to the functionality of the photos and videos and the kittens that it comes with which is very functional and has the ability to do pretty much everything you might need especially if you're a content creator. It's not exactly a long lens, but it definitely covers your range. That is very convenient. Wide angle and a nice 50 mm portrait, which is convenient for filming yourself or filming your ideas. It comes with whatever you need to start your process and the settings on the camera itself are plenty to choose from. It even comes with open gate option, but you really need to have the right tools to maximize the potential of this camera. I am generally shooting this camera at its general settings, 4K is about what I normally shoot, and I am very much considering getting a rig to mount this camera too, making positioning the camera and making it more functional for me and my usage. Now I'm not a influencer or a talking head online so I don't necessarily use this camera for that yet, but I do have plans in the future to start recording myself or interviewing people and this would be the perfect camera for that need. The cameras economics are pretty great. They are much lighter and much smoother than the other cannons I've used in the past. I did find this camera to be extremely light which I'm not really used to. I have multiple Nikon Z cameras and older Nikons and this would be my first canon professional series that I'm owning and the weight comparison alone is huge. I do understand that a lot of the body is made out of plastic and lens has a lot of plastic in it, but it doesn't feel cheap at all, not the least bit. All the connections the buttons the grips feel great on this camera. One thing I did notice is that the sensor on this camera does shift a little bit if you shake the camera while holding it in your hand. I don't really like that. It feels a little wonky, but I think that is just the stabilization feature inside the camera to give it an extra edge for stabilizing your shots. I don't necessarily love that it moves around more than I would like, but it does create really good images, and you can handhold quite a few shots on this camera. Getting into the footage itself, it shoots absolutely gorgeous footage straight outta camera, which I loved. I did a whole Photo Session of my daughter and the flowers and bees, and I absolutely loved the fact that I had minimal editing to do even when shooting raw. The quality of the camera itself produces gorgeous photos and videos. You can, of course look at all the stats of the camera in the camera settings above, but I'm just gonna give you my first hand experience that I did enjoy this camera a lot. I should put a disclaimer that I am a professional photographer and I have been for the past 18 years. I do enjoy shooting all kinds of cameras and lately over the past few years I've been dabbling in video a lot more and using this camera is definitely going to be a game changer in the kind of video format I will be shooting plus having a dedicated video camera is a very nice thing to have. Generally, I photograph people and events, but having a dedicated video Cinema camera is going to change my way of approaching certain jobs. Overall, this is my best take on this camera. It is very versatile. It has very quick options to change settings on dedicated buttons that make adjustments very easy and swapping from Photo to Video is just a tab. It will take probably a few days to readjust the settings on the camera to make them fit what's comfortable for you and that alone is very easy to do in the settings of the camera itself. I'm not gonna get into all the details, but I find this camera very easy to use and very aesthetically pleasing when producing video footage. I did get its own personal case which is great for the single lens that I own currently but I plan on expanding this in the future to possibly a Tele photo lens. Again, this camera is absolutely gorgeous and definitely worth it ... show more

  • The lens is a POWER HOUSE!
Style: EOS R6 V w/ RF20-50mm F4 L is USM PZ Lens
5/5 Stars – The Ultimate Hybrid Tool for Modern Content Creators Price: $3,699.00 Style/Kit: EOS R6 V with RF 20-50mm F4 L IS USM PZ Lens If you are a serious content creator, vlogger, or hybrid shooter looking to step up your production value, the Canon EOS R6 V Mirrorless Camera paired with the RF 20-50mm F4 L IS USM PZ Lens is an absolute powerhouse. At $3,699, it’s a significant investment, but it delivers professional-grade features tailored specifically for today’s multi-platform media landscape. So easy to set up and use it's a great investment for beginners creators. Here is a detailed breakdown of why this kit is earning rave reviews (sitting comfortably at a 5-star average across early adopters): Image Quality & Sensor Performance At the heart of the camera is Canon’s first EOS V-Series 7K / 32.5MP full-frame CMOS sensor paired with the powerful DIGIC X processor. The image quality is breathtaking. You get stunning detail, rich dynamic range, and incredible low-light performance thanks to the full-frame sensor. Whether shooting high-resolution stills or cropping deeply into video in post, the clarity is phenomenal. Video-Centric Features (Built for Creators) Canon clearly listened to the creator community when designing the "V" series. This isn’t just a stills camera that shoots video; it’s built from the ground up for video production: Vertical Video Support: Includes a dedicated vertical tripod mount and a vertical user interface (UI), making it seamless to shoot native 9:16 content for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts without awkward post-processing crops. Ergonomics: Features a handy front record button, a tally lamp so you always know when you're rolling, and a built-in Power Zoom lever. Connectivity: A full-size HDMI terminal—a massive win for reliable tethering, external monitors, and clean setups without flimsy adapters. Open Gate Video: Allows you to capture the full sensor area, giving you maximum flexibility to reframe for both horizontal and vertical formats from a single take. The Lens: RF 20-50mm F4 L IS USM PZ The bundled ultra-wide power zoom lens is the secret sauce of this kit. Starting at a sweeping 20mm, it’s ideal for vlogging, architecture, and tight spaces, extending up to 50mm for standard framing. The constant F4 aperture keeps exposure consistent throughout the zoom range, and the power zoom (PZ) mechanism delivers buttery-smooth, cinematic zooms that manual rings simply can't replicate. Coupled with Canon's legendary L-series build quality, weather sealing, and optics, it’s a stellar match for the body. Stability & Thermal Management Handheld shooting is a dream. The combination of In-Body Image Stabilization (IBIS) and the lens’s Optical Image Stabilization provides up to an incredible 8.0 stops of correction at both the center and periphery. Walking shots look gimbal-smooth. Furthermore, long-form recording is no longer an overheating anxiety trap. Thanks to a built-in active cooling fan system and a heat-dissipating magnesium-alloy chassis, you can shoot extended interviews, events, or livestreams without thermal shutdowns. Additional Highlights Slow & Fast Motion Mode: Great for in-camera time-warping and dramatic slow-motion b-roll. The Verdict The Canon EOS R6 V with the 20-50mm PZ lens bridges the gap between cinema-level performance and creator-friendly workflow. It eliminates the need for rigged-out cages, external fan mods, and awkward vertical shooting workarounds. If your workflow demands high-end full-frame video, flawless stabilization, and seamless social-first formatting, this kit is worth every single penny. Highly recommended for serious content creators and hybrid professionals! ... show more

  • Excellent Autofocus, Sharp Detail, and Surprisingly Good Built-In Mic
Style: EOS R6 V w/ RF20-50mm F4 L is USM PZ Lens
I love this camera. I've been using a ZV-E10 to record video for years, and it's great, but the quality I get from the R6V is a big step up. I'm blown away at how good the video looks. I record many types of videos as a part of my work - talking-head instructional videos, b-roll footage, and close-up table-cam footage for product reviews. The R6V has improved my workflow in all of those areas. I also record external monitors for retro video gameplay footage, and that's something that a lot of cameras struggle with. Even my ZV-E10 can't do it, because it's not able to stay focused. But the R6V does it easily. Talking-head videos look really good. So good that I almost worry you can see too much detail in my face! The way the camera blurs the background as part of its default settings is nice too. It really makes the footage look professional right out of the box without having to change settings. Of course, there are tons of options for customizing anything you want though, since this is a professional camera. Setting up livestreaming is also super easy. All you have to do is hit the Live streaming button on the top of the camera, then plug in a USB-C cable to the camera and connect it to your computer. Then it works just like any other webcam. The rotating screen is bright and also large enough to easily see if you're in frame. I've used the camera for walk-and-talk video as well and I'm surprised at the stabilization. It's not as good as using a gimbal or like the horizon settings on an action camera, but it looks quite good. Recording close-up footage has been nice. With my other camera, I often run into focusing and lighting issues while recording close-up footage. It's always a struggle, and I usually have to use my older Canon T5i instead. The R6V does close-up extremely well. It stays focused and lighting is consistent. The mic is quite good too. With a camera like this, I would expect that most people would use an external mic, but I've found the mic to be so good that I often record shorts without a wireless mic and publish the video as it is. It's a sensitive mic and picks up audio really well. I actually found that when I talk like I normally do when recording, I sound too loud in the R6V so I have to tone it down. There are pros and cons to that. The benefit is that I can talk quieter and not bother people, but a drawback is that it's much more likely to pick up sounds like air conditioning. But in my office, it's perfect. This has a ¼" thread on the bottom, as most cameras do, but also a ¼" thread on the side, making it super easy to attach it to a tripod or handle to record vertical videos. I've found this to be much more useful than I expected, and I've been recording so many more vertical videos for YouTube. The main drawback to this camera is its size. It's a big camera, so it's not as portable as smaller vlogging cameras and if you do use it for handheld vlogging, your arm is going to get tired fast. ... show more

  • Excellent Full-Frame Camera for Video, Live Production, and Hybrid Shooting
Style: EOS R6 V w/ RF20-50mm F4 L is USM PZ Lens
The Canon EOS R6 V paired with the RF20-50mm F4 L IS USM PZ lens is an impressive combination, especially if video is a major part of what you shoot. This feels less like a traditional photography-first mirrorless camera and more like Canon took the R6 platform and really optimized it for video creators, live production, interviews, events, and professional content work. Image quality from the full-frame sensor is excellent. Footage has plenty of detail, colors look great straight out of the camera, and there is enough resolution and flexibility to handle everything from normal 4K production to higher-resolution workflows. The ability to shoot 7K is particularly useful if you want room to crop, stabilize, or reframe footage during editing without immediately sacrificing output quality. Autofocus has also been very impressive. For interviews, sports, events, and situations where subjects are moving around, the camera does a great job staying locked on without requiring constant manual adjustment. That is especially valuable when operating the camera by yourself. The RF20-50mm PZ lens is what really makes this kit interesting for video. The 20mm wide end gives you noticeably more room than a traditional 24-70mm type lens, which is great when you're shooting indoors, working in tighter spaces, using a gimbal, or trying to capture a wider scene. The built-in power zoom is also a major advantage for video. Instead of manually twisting the zoom ring and potentially shaking the camera, you can create much smoother and more controlled zoom movements. For live production, streaming, interviews, and cinematic shots, this makes the lens feel much more like a compact professional video lens than a normal photography zoom. The constant aperture is another nice feature because your exposure isn't changing as you zoom. Between the lens stabilization and the camera's stabilization capabilities, handheld footage can also be surprisingly smooth. I particularly like this combination for event and production work where I need one camera that can move between a tripod, handheld configuration, and gimbal without constantly changing lenses or completely rebuilding the rig. Pros: Excellent full-frame image quality 32.5MP sensor provides plenty of resolution Excellent 4K and high-resolution video capabilities 7K recording provides additional flexibility for cropping and reframing Very capable autofocus and subject tracking 20mm wide end is extremely useful for video production Built-in power zoom is excellent for smooth video transitions Constant aperture throughout the zoom range L-series lens construction and optics Good stabilization for handheld shooting Internal-style zoom operation works especially well on a gimbal Great option for interviews, events, streaming, sports, and professional content creation Camera controls feel designed around video rather than having video added as an afterthought Cons: it isn't particularly fast for very low-light shooting or extremely shallow depth of field The 50mm maximum focal length can feel short if you frequently need tighter shots This is a fairly expensive kit, especially compared with more consumer-oriented mirrorless cameras Video-focused shooters will get considerably more value from the R6 V than photographers who primarily shoot stills There are a lot of settings and recording options, so beginners should expect a learning curve Overall, I'm extremely impressed with this combination. The R6 V feels like a camera designed for someone who takes video seriously but doesn't necessarily want to move into a much larger traditional cinema-camera setup. The power zoom lens complements it exceptionally well. The combination of a genuinely useful 20mm wide angle, smooth power zoom, stabilization, excellent autofocus, and full-frame image quality makes this a very capable compact production camera. ... show more

  • Excellent camera targeted at content creators
Style: EOS R6 V w/ RF20-50mm F4 L is USM PZ Lens
Let me start by saying this is an awesome hybrid still/video camera. It’s feature packed and has all of the Canon quality and DNA you expect. The camera is the latest tech and the included lens (in the kit) provides superior optics. But with all the accolades and superior performance, there are a couple of considerations to ensure this is the right camera for you. The camera body is a traditional pro level camera format and interface. If you’ve used nice cameras in the past, this will feel right at home in your hands. That being said, this camera has a definite focus on video over photos. This is a content creator’s dream. But this brings me to a potential major drawback for some: there is no traditional view finder on this camera. You’ll be composing your shots on the small screen on the back of the camera. For me, this ruins the immersive experience of capturing your content. Instead of immersing yourself in the shot looking through the view finder and only seeing your composition, using the small screen means you see everything else around you and your actual content that you’re working on is on a tiny screen. Yeah, I get it, we all do that on our phones, but with a substantial two handed camera it feels quite unnatural to me. That being said, set this thing on a tripod and shoot your talking head video and you’ll be producing stellar quality video. This camera is definitely intended more for the content creators. It’s just a different form factor that you should give serious consideration to before purchase. Another small point of irritation: Open the box and the kit seems complete with camera body, great lens, battery, charger and even a strap. But out of the box, you can’t take a picture or shoot even a 5 second test video. The kit doesn’t come with a memory card to store your content, so out of the box it’s basically useless. Sure you can run an HDMI cable into your computer and capture with something like OBS, but you can’t just snap a few test photos and play with it right out of the box. A professional photographer may have boxes of memory cards on hand, but I didn’t so I had a really nice brick on my coffee table for a few days while I waited for a nice high end memory card from Amazon. And a final consideration: The included lens is awesome, but don’t expect any real zoom capabilities. If you are sitting across the room from your subject, don’t expect to pull them in to fill up the frame using zoom from the lens. If you’re looking to shoot sports, wildlife or any zoomed content you’ll be immediately buying an additional lens. Just to be clear, these are quirky considerations that you need to be aware of if you’re going to be investing in a high quality camera such as this. This camera is truly awesome (5 stars all day long) and I highly recommend it. The things this camera does well, it does extremely well. Just make sure you understand what exactly you’re purchasing and make sure it fits your specific needs and expectations. For me, this camera will live in my home studio and be used to capture footage for product and instructional videos that I produce as a hobby. ... show more

  • The Absolute Holy Grail for Multi-Platform Content Creators!
Style: EOS R6 V w/ RF20-50mm F4 L is USM PZ Lens
As a part-time hybrid creator pushing content to YouTube, TikTok, and external client monitors, I have been hunting for a camera body that doesn't force me to compromise between filmmaking and quick-turn social media production. After putting this kit through rigorous daily use, I can confidently say Canon has engineered the ultimate production workhorse. Here is an in-depth breakdown of how this specific setup has revolutionized my production workflow: 1. Open Gate Video & The Full-Frame Sensor The full-frame sensor delivers exactly what you expect from Canon’s top-tier glass: breathtaking dynamic range, rich color science, and clean low-light performance even when pushing the ISO in poorly lit venues. However, the addition of Open Gate video is the real star here. By capturing the entire 3:2 sensor area, I no longer have to choose between shooting a scene horizontally or vertically. I can capture the footage once and easily crop out a perfect 16:9 4K landscape video and a 9:16 vertical short from the exact same clip without sacrificing framing or resolution. 2. 7K Oversampled 4K Production The visual clarity on this camera is stunning. The oversampled 7K-to-4K video output results in footage that is incredibly sharp, with virtually zero moiré or noise. When downsampling from 7K, the fine details—like hair texture, clothing patterns, and background elements—pop with a cinematic crispness that regular 4K sensors simply cannot match. It gives my files a high-end look right out of the camera, making color grading and post-production a breeze. 3. Native Vertical Video & Pro-Tier I/O Canon finally built a camera that natively respects the needs of modern platforms. The workflow transitions seamlessly into Vertical Video mode, complete with an intuitive rotated user interface that makes framing vertical shots on set effortless. Equally important is the inclusion of a full-size HDMI port. If you use external monitors, wireless transmitters, or recorders, you know how fragile micro-HDMI ports are. The robust full-size port provides a rock-solid connection that won't wiggle, lose signal, or snap during a hectic shoot. 4. The RF20-50mm F4 L IS USM PZ Lens This lens is an absolute engineering marvel for creators. The 20mm Ultra-Wide Angle: The 20mm starting focal length is a lifesaver. It allows me to shoot handheld vlogs without my face filling the entire frame, and it provides plenty of breathing room for tight studio spaces or desk setups. Power Zoom (PZ) Precision: The electronic Power Zoom is incredibly fluid. It operates silently and flawlessly, allowing for automated, perfectly paced zoom transitions that give talking-head videos a high-end, television-producer feel. L-Series Optics: Because this is an L-series lens, the edge-to-edge sharpness is flawless. The Image Stabilization (IS) works in perfect harmony with the camera body, yielding buttery-smooth handheld footage. Final Verdict This is not just an incremental upgrade; it is a complete rethink of what a creative camera should be. By combining cinematic full-frame oversampled video with heavy-duty physical features like full HDMI and software tools like Open Gate, Canon has eliminated the most annoying bottlenecks in modern editing. It saves hours in post-production, reduces the amount of gear I need to carry, and delivers uncompromising, professional-grade results. It is worth every single penny. ... show more

  • An Exceptional Video Camera Paired with a Fantastic Power Zoon Lens
Style: EOS R6 V w/ RF20-50mm F4 L is USM PZ Lens
Summary: This camera is clearly designed with video creators in mind. It delivers excellent image quality, impressive video performance, and long recording capability without overheating. While there are better options for photographers, this is an outstanding tool for serious video production. This is one of the most video-focused cameras Canon has released, and when paired with the outstanding RF 20-50mm F4 L IS USM PZ lens, it becomes an exceptional tool for content creation and professional video work. Pros: • Excellent photo and video quality • Built-in cooling fan prevents overheating during long recordings • Outstanding video-focused feature set • Very little rolling shutter in normal use • Includes Canon's excellent RF 20-50mm F4 L IS USM PZ lens • Internal power zoom lens balances well on gimbals • Sharp, distortion-controlled optics • Reliable for extended recording sessions Cons: • No mechanical shutter • Not ideal for flash photography • No electronic viewfinder • Bright sunlight can make composing still photos more challenging • Better alternatives exist for photographers focused primarily on stills I've spent enough time with this camera to come away with a very clear impression: this is a video camera first and a photography camera second. The image quality is excellent for both photos and video, but the feature set is heavily focused on content creators and videographers. The built-in cooling fan is one of the standout features because it allows for long recording sessions without the overheating concerns that often accompany high-resolution video recording. I've also been impressed with rolling shutter performance. Under normal use, I have not experienced any meaningful rolling shutter issues. Only extremely fast-moving subjects are likely to reveal its limitations. The included RF 20-50mm F4 L IS USM PZ lens deserves special mention because it is one of the highlights of this package. Canon's first full-frame internal power zoom lens is exceptionally well suited for video work. Since the lens zooms internally, its size and balance do not change while zooming, making it an excellent choice for gimbal use. The optics are impressively sharp across the frame, distortion is very well controlled, and the power zoom operation is smooth and professional looking. The versatile 20-50mm focal range is useful for everything from vlogging and content creation to interviews and general video production. For still photography, there are some compromises. The lack of a mechanical shutter makes this a less attractive option for photographers who frequently use flash. The absence of an electronic viewfinder can also make composing images in bright outdoor conditions more difficult than with a traditional mirrorless camera. The photo quality itself is excellent, but the overall experience feels optimized for video rather than photography. If photography is your primary focus, there are other cameras that offer a more complete photographic toolset. If your goal is content creation, video production, YouTube work, interviews, events, or long-form recording, this camera is exceptionally capable. Combined with the RF 20-50mm F4 L IS USM PZ lens, it forms one of the most compelling video-focused packages Canon has offered. ... show more

  • Perfect for those who choose videography first, photography second!
Style: EOS R6 V w/ RF20-50mm F4 L is USM PZ Lens
The Canon R6 V is definitely the Canon camera that I personally have been waiting for and sits exactly at the price point where it should be AND would definitely be a purchase if you are an amateur/professional videographer/video-blogger focused individual that occasionally finds the need and want to take decent photos. There’s plenty of reviews that focus on what this camera is and its functions so I’ll focus on my background and why I actually love it. I’ve been an amateur photographer since the early 1980’s and since the affordable video camera era have enjoyed videography as well and have migrated more towards videos and less of the photography (if a picture is worth a thousand words how many multiples of that is a video?). In the digital era I would always take a DSLR (my first decent was a Canon EOS 40D) to take photos and simultaneously a video camera to take videos. My first photo/video camera combination I tried was the Canon EOS 5D Mark II that was a great photography camera that had OK 1080 30P video capabilities but was difficult to non-useable for any video shoots so I continued to pack a video camera especially when 4K video became the standard. Next came my first excellent photo/video camera: the Canon EOS R5. Finally an excellent photography camera that did excellent video and had an interface that wasn’t too complicated for video for the amateur (compared to the Canon C series videography cameras). One main problem was on long video shoots the camera would overheat and I found myself filming more videos than photos which led to me picking up a Canon EOS R5 C (it’s a R5 that didn’t overheat but now had a more complicated C series interface for videos). It’s became another learning curve and I longed for the simpler R5 video interface. This is where finally the camera I have been waiting for showed up: the Canon EOS R6 V! Everything that I enjoyed about the video operating system interface on the R5 (simpler) but now even better with more advanced features combined with an excellent photography ability was now packaged up in a smaller and lighter camera: the R6 V. This camera becomes the videographer first, photographer second perfect combination. Designed for the content creator in mind (built in wifi/Bluetooth and streaming capabilities when paired with your phone or used as a web based camera) and those focused mainly on videography on the move with limited other resources available or at hand (ie. gimbals, tripods, etc..), this camera shines bright. The built in IBIS coupled with the lens image stabilization makes shooting stable videos extremely easy even when videoing by had walking or even slightly jogging. The both vertical and horizontal mounting locations makes this perfect to mount to tripods and other mounting gear in either your standard landscape or the much used social media phone portrait mode. Similar to the R5 C and cinema series cameras, there’s active cooling built in so you don’t have to worry about overheating and missing out on capturing videos due to your camera shutting off. For editing afterwards in your choice video editing software, the ability to shoot in 7k open gate will give you plenty of choices on your video size and orientation (landscape vs. portrait) and also allow for more software enabled stabilization if you are filming in a very dynamic and bumpy environment. One nice feature (excellent in my opinion and overlooked) if you get the RF20-50 F4 L IS USM PZ Lens kit with the camera is the electronic zoom feature (power zoom) and the rim of the camera record button as the zoom feature. For video recording this is (once you get used to using it) a game changer. I’ve tried on my previous R5 and R5 C to (while recording videos) smoothly zoom in or out on a subject and it is always difficult to slowly or even smoothly do that manually with your hand slowly rotating the zoom bezel. With the new PZ lens and built in power zoom knob on the camera you just put the lens in power zoom mode (rotate to the PZ area and press the PZ/MZ button on the lens to get it into or out of the power zoom mode) and now can fine tune your zoom functions with a single finger. This brings back my memories of the simplicity of power zoom on a video camera and the ease of being able to either slowly zoom in on your subject (artistic and smooth) or choose at an instant to zoom or pull back fast. The included LP-E6P battery gives you plenty of recording time compared to all the other LP-E6 battery variants and is a must have if you are a videographer compared to just a photographer. Since there is no viewfinder on this camera (only a screen), you’ll need that extra power also to keep the display on. That is the one gripe I have on this camera (no physical viewfinder) but since you’ll pick this camera up as a video camera first option, it’s not that much of a negative. I could go on and on about all the features this camera has but there are plenty of other reviews you can look at that give that information. If you are like me and are at that stage where you want and excellent video camera that has plenty of professional quality features built into it but you don’t want to jump all the way to a professional cinema series camera AND you are still the type who enjoys taking photographs occasionally, then the Canon EOS R6 V is the camera you are looking for. I’ll admit that my R5 C can take top quality 8K videos and has the capability of creating more professional videos but after using the R6 V for a short period of time I’m grabbing the R6 V as my main go to camera for videos from now on. At the price point it’s not for everyone who just takes occasional family videos, but if you’re wanting excellent videos and choose quality and ease of use then this is the camera you’re looking for. ... show more
