BUYERS BEWARE! I got a Canon EOS R5 refurbished from “Minty Gadgets (we track serial numbers)”. Camera was delivered in two days and on time. Included original box, manual, charger, strap, battery and camera. The camera is in good condition and the shutter count at 9,000. Here are the two major problems: 1) The camera is a grey market version that appears to be from Japan according to the box. No where on Amazon in the listing did it say this was a grey market version. I cannot register the serial number on the Canon USA website. Grey market cameras have less appeal since they don't have a warranty and it's questionable if they are supported by Canon USA. 2) The battery seems pretty used as it’s showing very low on the charge life in the settings. So it likely will need to be replaced soon. Had I known this was a grey market camera I would not have bought it for $2,530 USD. I will be returning this and buying a new one from an official Canon USA dealer since its $450 more and the battery would be new. ... show more

Sometime it freezes, or doesn’t focus to shoot, when you turn it off it stays on thinking and sometimes says error! The S/N doesn’t allow me to register it on canon as my product either

I bough/financed this camera as it was labeled “renewed”. Upon receiving the camera I noticed a crack across the top display. When I went to register the camera I was informed by Canon that the camera was not to be sold in the United States and couldn’t be registered. So I returned the camera. AMAZING camera capable in every way, however I should have read the reviews before I purchased this camera. It is an international version, something that is not listed ANYWHERE on the product description. This means that you will not be able to register your VERY expensive camera with Canon (in the US at least), so if anything goes wrong, they will NOT fix it.
