The Canon LP-E12 lithium-Ion battery pack features a 7.2V output and an 875mAh capacity. Charge it using the Battery Charger LC-E12 (not included). This battery is compatible with EOS Rebel S1 and EOS M SLR cameras. It allows your Canon EOS M or Rebel S1 digital camera to record up to 1 hour and 30 minutes of video or capture up to 230 still photos for lasting operation. The rechargeable design allows repeated use.

The battery that came with the camera is still working like new even after 2 years and many charges, and I expect this backup battery will perform just as well. Judging by how long the battery took to charge, I think this is the long life Canon original. I will follow up. the aftermarket batteries available at Amazon have disappointed me several times as they just don't last and never seem to have the life of the original Canon. It costs several times the cost of the aftermarket batteries, but when you are on an overseas vacation, you want flawless performance not battery failue. This battery lasts me long just like the original baterry that came with my camera when I first bought it. It could last the whole day for continuous photos with about an hour of continuous video recording.

About electronics i rather just buy the manufacturer brands since they are perfectly designed for the devices, the batter lasts for a long time specially whenever you are recording a session or set. Or just in case you need it for emergency.

I brought this as a backup battery for my Canon M50. I do vlog quite a lot and because the batteries tend to die a little faster on this type of camera versus a DSLR I wanted to stick to canon, I like all parts of any of my cameras to be from the same manufacturer.
