I have a very nice small knife set that is almost as old as I am. I wanted to get a new set and give my old one to my granddaughter, who is starting to be very interested in cooking. I saw this set, which had everything I wanted, and ordered. I love that it comes with a lovely wooden holder for ALL of the items, including the kitchen scissors. It is sooo convenient to have everything available instantly. The knives are incredibly sharp. They are very comfortable to hold and use, and believe me, I have used knives that were not and it was not a pleasant experience. Believe it or not, I did not have a set of steak knives, which are included with this set (6), and that is wonderful! Hubby had been using a little paring knife, and the steak knives are much better! This set has everything, including a wonderful chef's knife, which is traditionally the knife I use for most things. Then handles fit tightly to the blades, with no area available for soil; they are very easy to clean and dry. They are high on the hardness scale, and should be easy to sharpen when it is required; the edge angle is provided, as is a steel. I am completely delighted with this set, and my granddaughter is delighted with my old one! This set would be an asset to any kitchen, and would make a fabulous gift.

I was super excited to receive this beautiful cleaver set, the blades and handles are so elegant. But to my disappointment my vegetable cleaver and santoku had cracks in the plastic handle cover. Though they are small, I am very concerned that these will propagate over time. Furthermore, several of the crests are discolored and scratched, this feels like a used set. Either way, not a great first impression. I wish I could just get these two knives replaced instead of having to return the whole set…
