I needed a new tent there are a lot to choose from. Took a chance on this one and for the three nights I spent in it, it was great. Easy to set up by myself. I will say that I experienced perfect weather conditions when I used it in Canyonlands National Park. No rain, no wind. Plenty of room for me, my cot, a chair and gear. The one thing that I think it's missing is a second zipper on the door. The windows have two zippers, but not the door. Overall, I'm happy with the tent. I just got back from a 4 day camping trip where my grandson and I had the opportunity to try this tent out. My grandson and I had the tent up and ready in about 10 minutes. We had great weather, so I can't review how weatherproof it is. There's three things I'd change having actually used the tent. First, the single offset door would be better as a double center door. We use camp cots and the position of the door means that one cot blocks half the entry way. Second, because we use cots and the footprint of the tent is 9x11, I'd change it to 10x11. That way the cots won't rub the tent walls. One cot across the back wall fits perfectly, but with two they rub the front and back wall when placed at the sides. In case of rain I don't want anything touching the walls Finally, I'd put two windows in the back wall. It already has two in the front and one at each end. Windows in the back would make this tent perfect. Overall, the tent was really good for the price and I believe will last us several years. Like with anything you need to take care of it. I always use a ground cover and place a 8x10 rug on the floor to protect against punctures. DON'T pack any tent up wet. If you have to be sure to open it up when you get home. I use products like Camp Dry along seams as well. Again, nice tent for the dough. ... show more

For full disclosure, I did spray the tent with waterproofing spray, as other reviews have advocated for. Also, we put a tarp under the tent, as pretty much everything I've read advocates for that. That said, we camped in rain by Lake Michigan and we were dry as could be. I was worried as the rainfly only overhangs the windows slightly, but apparently enough to divert rain from the tent. A bird also pooped on the tent and that wiped right off without residue. We have found assembly of the tent easier with two people, but I have done so myself. The directions are good enough to follow for success, but I have had to make sure the corners are aligned, which is not too unusual. We found the tent tall and it comfortably fits our four campers with air mattresses or camping pads. The ventilation is really a godsend when camping, as it keeps things much cooler to have multiple windows. The tent is tall enough for us to stand up in and the opening at the top is high enough to afford considerable privacy. But, the one extremely gusty day we had (50+ mile an hour wind), the tent seemed to buckle some, given its height. So be careful how you orient it, I suppose. Under typical conditions, the tent worked like a dream and we enjoyed watching the stars out the top of the tent. Even on hot days, we felt relatively cool when we pitched this in the shade and unzipped the windows. Out of the three tents we've owned, this one has been our favorite for car camping as a family. We've had a great summer of adventures using it in a variety of conditions. Plus, you don't have to be a machine or a seasoned packer to get it to go back in the tent bag.
