This 10’ X 12’ tarp is supposed to be 14 mil material, but measures closer to 0.012”, or about 12 mil. Aside from that, it is a good tarp, about the same as the heavy-duty tarps I get from the local membership warehouse. The size of tarps often state “size before finishing” as they include the material that is folded over along the edges, so I was not surprised that the 10’ side measured 9’ 9”. If you paint, you need a drop cloth to prevent paint on floors, furniture, etc. That could be this, but you really don’t need this heavy duty. What I needed; a load of crushed shell (comparable to crushed stone) for me to distribute as landscaping. This comes via dump truck, they dump it on your driveway (or wherever you tell them). Big pile; couple of yards. And for heavy material, you need a heavy-duty tarp. Mine came with a tear; nothing duct tape didn’t reinforce and after a load of shell I it may get further damaged. I hope to protect my driveway though, and I will readily sacrifice a tarp to do so. I didn't rate durability, cannot do that until AFTER the shell gets here and gets distributed. ... show more

The tarp itself is high quality and the grommet holes are fairly standard as to how far they are apart. I'll be using this item on the back side of my garage where it was storm damaged in hopes to prevent snow from entering just long enough to get us to Spring when we plan to have it repaired. One of the things you want in a tarp is waterproof and durable. It is hard to tell how long a tarp will last until you use it for a few years, but it looks like it will last a long time and the gromets seems secure.

This is truly a heavy duty tarp, as advertised. The 14 ml thickness is perfect - not too stiff, so it is still workable, but definitely more thick and durable than the standard fare you find in the typical big box store - the ones that fray and tear after a couple of uses. I particularly like the extra layer of reinforced border that runs along the entire perimeter and holds the large metal grommets - that should greatly reduce the stretching and ripping you get in the standard non-reinforced tarp. Plus, each corner has a triangular layer of additional reinforcement for extra strength under the grommet in that critical area. Overall, a well-designed and well-made tarp that is well worth the price - highly recommend. ... show more

This is the first time I have a 14mil trap. I never bought higher than 10 mil and I can see a big difference for good. One size is silver, the inside is black. I need to protect heavy equipment (saws) from winter weather. I'm expecting this tarp it will help me extra time before I could build a permanent storage space for my equipment is currently under the weather and covered with 10 mil tarps. For previous experience with lower quality tarps, I'm expecting this tarp it will last longer. Where I live we have nasty winter ❄️🥶. So far I recommend it, I hope I will feel the same way next year in May/June. ... show more

Easily placed with all the metal grommets and my own rope. This is a mid weight tarp, not thin and prone to tearing, but not so super heavy I cant lift it. Dont always need a super heavy tarp for different projects. This is good for providing shade to our chickens, and covering the bark chip pile, but too thin to put directly over firewood with all its pokey wood pieces.
