  • Our home was built when home heating oil was around .25 cents per gallon.
Size: 4 Gallons
Our home was built when home heating oil was around .25 cents per gallon. There's a 60 foot plumbing run to our guest bathroom. I installed a 2.5 gallon unit on that line about 25 feet from the shower. It produces a nice 104 degree shower (the best temperature according to dermatologists) for about eight minutes. Give it 15 minutes to re-heat and the next person can have an eight minute shower. I was so pleased with that result that I bought the 4.0 gallon unit and installed it about 25 feet from the master bedroom shower. Similar result, 104 degree shower for eight to 12 minutes, but takes about 25 minutes to reheat. I have timers installed on the GFI outlets, that kick on for 30 minutes in the morning, and an hour in late afternoon. The days of 24/7 gas, oil, and electric water heaters may become a thing of the past if people get tired of looking at their bills in disgust. No, you are not going to fill your bathtub with 104 degree water in a few minutes, but who takes baths anymore? Who has the time? A very qualified DIY guy can plumb these and get payback at end of first year. Hiring the pro's (while recommended) may push that timeline back into the second or third year. It all depends on your location. In the end the wife's conclusion is most important... she gives it two thumbs up. Like me, she likes saving money while still remaining comfortable. ... show more

  • It gets the job done!
Size: 2.5 Gallons
I was tired of waiting for the hot water to reach the faucet in our master bath in order to wash my hands in hot water. Because I now get hot water right away, I can wash my hands in a fourth of the time it used to take. I installed this unit in the cabinet below one sink. We have dual sinks with drawers in-between. The unit just barely fits between the existing plumbing, the sink, the wall, and the drawers. If like me you don't not have electrical below the sink, installing this unit will require some electrical work in addition to the plumbing. Because the water inlet and outlet did not match my faucet valve plumbing, I ended up going to two hardware stores to get the plumbing I needed to finish the job. This was further complicated by the fact I was connecting it to two faucets, the second of which an extension water line. I was fortunate that there was already a GFI electrical outlet on the wall next to the sink. I was able to drill a small hole in the cabinet under the sink directly below the outlet and then fish some 14-2 cable down the inside of the wall in order to add an outlet. As another reviewer noted, the power plug on this unit is pretty short, so an electrical outlet must be installed right next to it. One minor detail that I did notice with this unit is that the temperature of the water can vary several degrees due to hysteresis in the mechanical temperature control. I would have preferred a solid state temperature controller that could heat the water to a more consistent value. The current controller is certainly adequate, and can be set for very hot water -- it is just that your hot water will not always the same exact temperature each time you use it, depending on how recently the thermostat called for heat. ... show more

  • Its awesome! It Provides hot water for my whole 32’ Camper!
Size: 6 Gallons
***Update 11/19/2022*** (6 gallon) As stated in my first review of this product, the first one I received was broken but the return of the old and shipping of the new one was all within a 3 day process which definitely took the stress of receiving a broken one the first time away! I installed this in my 32’ camper and it provides hot water throughout the entire camper and also provides enough hot water to take a 15-18 minute shower then the water starts to cool down, all you need is a smaller shower head as with the larger ones you will run out of hot water faster. Overall this 6 Gallon water heater is a 9.5/10 and keeps our tiny home feeling just like an actual house. (I will update my review after 3 months) ***(OLDER REVIEW)*** I just want to say, the way that this item is packed into the box is the reason why this item will easy crack or break, there are two foam pads on the top and bottom of the water heater but nothing protecting the front, back, and sides, I understand that its the responsibility on the shipping/warehouse behalf to handle products carefully but it also starts with some preventative precautions from the owners/manufacturers of the products to spend as much money as the need (which could be spent) to pay for extra starfoam, plastic padding, etc to make sure their products have a better chance at making to the customers in one piece. Ill update this later to let you guys know how to return/exchange process went. ... show more

  • Good product slightly Wrong description
Size: 1.3 Gallons
Description says 43.5” power cord— It is actually 24”. Otherwise the unit is well built and works well.

  • Plug it in, ti works!
Size: 2.5 Gallons
This little sucker gets hot fast. Have it set slightly past half and it heats in 12mins. 20 mins on full. For comparison the 8gallon trailer heater takes 50 mins. using gas or electric and about 25 using gas and electric. Gets hot enough (110) for bath or dishes.

  • It heats up water fast!
Size: 4 Gallons
We found out we had a leaking pipe under the kitchen floor. We decided that we weren't breaking any concrete and canceling the pipe was our best option. That left us with hot water only in half of the house but our washer and kitchen sink needed a source of hot water so we decided to install this water heater and it has been the most convenient and easy fix to our problem. It took me about an hour to hook it up and hang it from the wall. It comes with the bracket for such purpose and I went to the hardware store for the copper hook ups and hoses and connectors. It literally takes it 5 minutes to heat up all 4 gallons in the tank and so far we haven't run out of hot water. We have it set at 125 degrees (F) and we can go a little higher if we need to but we don't go above this temperature as for the sink and washer it's all we need. I haven't noticed any difference from this to our old gas water heater and in a week of usage we haven't run out of hot water yet. I'll update my review after I test it with both the sink and washer machine running at the same time for a more extended period of time and also when my electric bill comes in to see the cost of having an additional water heater in the house. ... show more
