I purchased one of these with the solar panel and have since purchased two additional cameras. It was hard to tell if you needed to pay the monthly fee from the other reviews, but I can confirm you DO NOT HAVE TO PAY A MONTLY FEE! The only drawback to the camera system I have found is that each motion activated event is limited to 20 seconds. It does record to the cloud and SD card, so it is backed up. The App works great on my Android Tablet, and they have been installed for several months. My units have solar panels so there is no need to charge and you can check on the battery level on the app. Just make sure you go through all the settings because the app defaults are not set to the longer length of 20 seconds and 1080P. I bought 6 of these cameras to install one each in my family room, front door, living room, garage driveway, side alley & backyard. So far it has been working like a charm! Few cameras have all the features as this one: 1) The camera works indoor & outdoor, no problem. 2) It is very easy to install and setup. Simple plug & play 3) Great picture quality & perspective. It does the job its expected to do great! 4) Excellent VicoHome mobile app that allows you to view live, recorded video, control night vision, video fidelity & many other settings etc 5) You can share the cameras to be added to your family member's account 6) It allows you to change the wifi once setup. My old Yi camera does not allow this, so once i upgraded my wifi router I still had to keep the old router connected. You can easily upgrade your wifi router & keep this camera 7) It can operate with battery or power. So even if there is a power cut it will continue to function 8) It has local SD card storage. I set mine up with 128 GB card. It can save all motion detected videos locally and also in free cloud storage of up to 3 days. This is huge as you don't need a subscription to operate the camera. My handyman was surprised i don't have to pay every month So nothing to complain so far. And to top it all, it is very affordable compared to other cameras. Great product! Like all products here are some things I found as opportunities to improve this already great product even further: 1) Consider providing a bigger USB cable either by default or as add-on. Out door installations typically need at least a 6ft cable 2) The initial connectivity to individual cameras is a bit slow (slower than my old Yi camera) and it only connects to one camera at a time. This seems like a mobile app enhancement that can be easily done 3) The mobile app shows camera in the reverse order in which they were added (latest installed first). It will be good to allow the cameras to listed in alphabetical or customer preferred order 4) Consider adding a desktop app to this kick ass product. ... show more

I bought 2 of them , and I decide to buy more after I used them. They are perfect , easy to install , easy to setup The quality of picture is great . The application is very easy and allows to view live and recorded ( the live video has light you can turn on and alarm also you turn on any time. The voice of the camera is so clear you can talk with anyone on your door just from your phone. It was very easy to connect the camera with the Wi-Fi . Easy to charge , and the charging stay a lot longer than i expected (I didn’t charge it since I bought it) The last thing I like about it that you give access to any member of your family in a very easy way, there is a QR code to scan to get access. ... show more

These cameras really do the job, at such a great low price! The installation was pretty much a breeze, just might depend from case to case how and where you install your cameras. I opted for a solar panel to charge my cameras, and they work perfectly! The quality is good and the features all work as advertised! The pairing process was pretty smooth. I’d say motion detection works 90% of the time, i think it depends how you position uour camera bc the instructions does state that tracking side to side works better than something approaching the camera head on. The app itself is also pretty good, pretty user friendly. Also a huge plus you dont need to buy a subscription to use it, since there’s a rotating amount of up to 3-4 days of storage for videos. The added benefits are there if you want to subscribe but I don’t need them at the moment. We bought 2 of these for our front door area. Out of the box, we connected to wifi and setup each cam up in 3 minutes flat. Picture quality is great, you can decipher how long you'd like to record after motion sensor goes off (which we found activates at 10-15 feet), and battery power is excellent--we have not charged them once, and they still have about 25% percentage left. Night vision is superb, we're able to catch a lot of wildlife we otherwise would be unaware of. Other things to note: - Remote light/mic are convenient features - You DO NOT need an external memory card/cloud storage. Each cam will hold up to 3 days worth of footage at minimum. ... show more

I got these after having some issues with an evicted neighbor who was returning back to the property. These cameras are very sensitive and provide great peace of mind. I did find they wanted to record my outdoor flags on occasion, but changing the placement was easy to do as I learned the better places to locate them. Not a fan of the software for use on a desktop computer, but the mobile version works well and i am able to see packages delivered while at work (and even my pets going outside for breaks). ... show more
