Update: I've now had this CamelBak for a year and have used it on multiple occasions, incl a recent 14er hike in CO, and absolutely love it. The design and weight distribution are outstanding, as is the number and location of storage pockets. Don't waste your $$ on a cheaper backpack; I did and regretted it. I bought this to replace a cheaper (non-CamelBak) water backpack we purchased 2 yrs ago. It was a pain from the start: hard to clean, the mouthpiece frequently leaked, etc. The final straw was when the mouthpiece came apart while hiking up a 14er with my son - about the worst place to have a water-pack malfunction!! We've had a smaller one of these for yrs and have never experienced any problems with it, so this time I paid to get the quality we needed. The suspension and cooling are wonderful. Because of the curved design the main compartment doesn’t hold much and is awkward to use. Due to the price, I wouldn’t purchase again.

The media could not be loaded. Great bag, very comfortable, I just returned from a MTB ride and it fit my body very well, and didn't "dance" during the trail. The watter bladder is awsome and very convenient for use. However, there's an issue with the drinking tube - the bag is marketed with a feature that keeps the tube on your chest for easy access, and also supposed to keep it fixed, through a magnet. In actual, this feature seems to be just a marketing stuff, as the magnet is very weak, and its grip of the tube is very loose, which causes it to fell almost immediately. In order to solve it you'll have to find other solution, otherwise the tube will be left hanging and constantly move around. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Happy this pack. Helmet hooks work great. Stretch pouch is perfect. Water reservoir works great although can be a little stubborn getting in when full but nothing crazy. This would be a perfect pack if it wasn't for the issues I'm experiencing below. Things that annoy: 1. Magnet on hose is too tight and clips too far down hose making ur arm knock it out of it's magnetic holder when in a riding position. Definitely an after thought. 2. Back plastic air channel backing bends out and pokes my back. I have to push it back but it's weak and bends out super easy needs a sturdier design. I bought impact protector and I don't know if its helping or making problem worse. ... show more
