Description

Camco's RV Awning Shade Kit provides additional shade and helps lower the temperature under your RV awning. This helps block most UV rays while protecting you and your family from excess sun exposure. The mesh fabric allows air to pass through, giving you an enjoyable breeze. It also provides extra privacy without obstructing your view. When not in use, the awning shade can retract like a curtain while still installed into the awning channel. The shade fits most standard RV awnings and measures 54-inches x 180-inches. It is made of vinyl-coated, woven polyester mesh fabric with UV and flame-retardant protection. The shades feature reinforced corners with rust-resistant grommets. Easy to install—simply hang the shade and secure the bungee cords to the ground, using the tent stakes (included).

It was shipped to me quickly and was easy to attach to my Awning. Appears to be well made. Only had it up a few days, then high winds were forecasted so took it down. Weather here in Florida might settle down enough to put it back up.

The shade is the perfect size but getting it into the track is not easy with our awning as the clip has to be at just the right angle to fit into the right slot due to the bulky head at the ends of the roller as we have a 20’ awning. Can’t wait to set it up with the tie downs and relax in the early morning sun! ... show more

    • Have to be creative to mount on a Zip-Dee awning

Zip-Dee awnings do NOT have a longitudinal slot to accommodate the t-shaped sliders that most awning sunshades use: Zip-Dee expects you to drill holes and install snaps along the awning roller to hold one of their shades - that probably would be a better idea, if you have one of their awnings. I attached evenly spaced plastic clamps along the edge of this shade, ran a strong cord through the middle of them, and then tied the ends of the cord to the awning arms. It allows me to slide the shade along the cord to accommodate different positions of the sun (our awning is quite a bit longer than this shade), but I’m not sure it’s a great idea to have that taut cord pulling the awning arms together. So far no issues. The fabric is a little inflexible at first but seems to be loosening up a bit, and it is not by any means opaque: we wanted to be able to see through it.
