I have an awning on my motorhome that is just starting to come apart and don't feel like changing yet. This tape worked very well. I don't know how long it will last, but it's a temporary fix anyway. If you need to squeeze another season or two out of an awning, give this tape a shot, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

I have read that people have received rolls that are yellow. Ours was also, but once unrolled it was clear. Like that it is wider and much cheaper than what I can buy in the store. Have used on awning and slide out toppers. Our RV is 13 years old and small tears are popping up. This works great.

In less than a year, the tape failed on the awning portion next to the roofline, where it's attached. This area is always on the top, outside, whether the awning is rolled up or extended. The tape falling/peeling off in brittle strips and smaller pieces. The tape that is not exposed to the sun is still in good condition, so the awning is holding together, at least in calm conditions. I will look for a tape that can withstand the sun, and cover the now bare areas.

Our Pop up tent had a couple of tears in the top. Hated to just throw it away since there are no replacements for it. Thought I'd try this. Had bought it for "just in case, on the road repair" for our truck camper awning. My husband was secptable when I bought it but has now said glad we had it. We had to put this on the Pop up tent in lousy weather so we could cut some wood on a table saw. Managed to get it on smoothly on the outside facing the elements covering the tears that were 2-4" long. We've had it up in driveway for 2 weeks now and it held up nicely in strong wind, rain & even 2" of snow.

What happens when a 2 year old $10,000 motorized retractable awning develops a tear on the edge and the manufacturer won't respond? You either replace the entire panel at great expense or you look for alternatives. I chose the Camco Awning Repair Tape. Application was a little tricky since our awning is motorized, therefore it's spring loaded and requires a careful technique to create slack in the awning to apply the tape. Since the tear was at one of the side edges, I applied the tape to both sides of the awning after cleaning the surface with alcohol. I then applied the same amount of tape on the opposite side so the awning would retract and wind without walking. Since the awning is under tension when out, I was concerned about the tape not holding. For the limited amount of time, it has been opened and closed since the repair, that hasn't been an issue. It's winter now, so we probably won't be using the awning until next spring but unless there's a surprise waiting for me, I fully expect the repair to hold. Recommended.

Strong adhesive bonds well. The key is to clean the surface, I was amazed how dirty the awning was. Colored awnings can be deceiving. I used a flexible 3" plastic painter's scraper to apply pressure to the tape. I had extensive sunburn damage to top, (5 years old) as it was stored rolled up. Applied the tape the complete width of 14'. It has been on for only 30 days and one camping trip so far this summer. I will be watching for yellowing to the tape as it is main complaint about using this tape.
