Bought these shades to install in my “She shed”. It faces East/West, when the sunsets it would get unbearably hot, even my little AC couldn’t keep up. Being a shed, windows are a strange size. Calyx Interiors offered such a large selection of sizes I could get a custom fit without the custom cost. My studio temperature drop significantly after installing my bamboo shades, I keep making pottery all afternoon now. The shades are beautiful. I get lots of compliments and installed them myself. These blinds were SO EASY to install! Took only 10 mins and I am not very handy. They are cordless. They are just as cute, in fact they are identical to the other blinds I purchased last year on Amazon. The other blinds were much more complex in installing. This design is so much easier. Note: if you put the brackets up too close together you cannot slide the blinds on. So, for outside mounting, be SURE to put the brackets only one inch from the ends. For example, my blinds were 35” wide so I put the brackets 33” apart (which is one inch in from the ends). I will be ordering these for my whole house. ... show more

If your looking for absolute sunblock pass on this. Unsure if you can view thru from the outside looking in - my guess would be yes- this is on a second level window so for me that doesn’t matter.
