Overall....HANDS DOWN THE BEST KNIFE SET I have ever owned!!!! or you will ever own!! I have been using my best friends "marriage gift" set of knives (they are divorced now) and they would irritate me because they were horrible. So I went to Ross and bought this for $40. Best $40 I ever spent. But it was literally a one in a million find, because I never saw them again... they disappeared like Keyser Soze (The Usual Suspect reference). An opportunity came up to purchase a knife set, as a gift and I paid full price on Amazon. It is expensive, but TOTALLY worth it. My sister was grateful, thankful and can't stop raving about her knives. All the knives are sharp, cut quick and require little effort. Only effort to be mindful of not cutting your fingers lol! So don't mix alcohol and knives. You have to clean these by hand, NO DISHWASHER but it's only a small price to pay for the luxury of a good cut. This is an investment because I KNOW, I will be using these for the next 10 years...or until my girlfriend decides to give it to her child when they move out...then I will be sad, but I will just buy the updated version. ... show more

I've never had a complete knife set and I love having these, a knife for every situation. It's really nice that every time you slide them into or out of the knife block, they are sharpened. So you have the right knife for the job and it's always sharp.

This set is high quality and looks great but comes incomplete so I’m docking it a star. The packaging tells you to purchase the 8” bread knife to complete the set which wouldn’t be a big deal except they have discontinued the knife and you can’t actually buy it. However, I found a perfect replacement here on Amazon: HENCKELS Forged Premio Bread Knife. The handle is a perfect match to the rest of the set. ... show more

We got this knife set as a gift for Christmas, and love it! The only thing we are not big on is the steak knives being serrated, but it isn’t a deal breaker. The big knife alone makes this set worth it, it works so well and is always sharp because of the built in sharpener!
