I just got it put together and haven't slept on it yet so I don't know how it will do when weight is on it. The mattress slides from side to side easily. It needs to have something to hold the mattress in place. Otherwise, it seems sturdy. We were able to assemble it quickly. Edit. This bed was purchased for my elderly mother who was moving in with us. The size works well. It shipped in a smalller than expected box, all parts were there. Assembly was quick and straightforward with no surprises. A twin mattress fit with no issues and stays put pretty well without sliding too much. She seems comfortable on it and is sleeping well, she complained a lot about her old bed and the lack of sleep, not an issue with this one. There is room underneath for storage which is a plus. We got this bed for our preteen daughter who loves to have friend spend the night and jump in and out of bed. So with that being said. We needed a bed that wasn't crazy big, but nothing that couldn't handle some weight and movement. Its been a month now and it's held up great. The instructions were very well worded. Easy to follow along. My oldest teen daughter could put it together and she doesn't like doing that kind of thing. Under the bed space is good, you could easily store your off season clothes in boxes under there, or room decor you aren't using. The bed hasn't started dipping or showing signs of failure on any of the support bars, which just lay on top of the frame in their designated spots.
