I am semi retired. I work 3 days a week and I fish ALOT. So I put 8 to 12 hours on my reels every weekend. I have 3 Cadence reels. A Lux 1000, a CS8 Pro 2000, and this Vigor 2000. I bought the Lux 1st. I don’t like it at all. It’s in the box where it will stay. I bought the CS8 Pro 2nd. Love it!! It’s a VERY good reel. The CS8 is why I decided to take a chance on the Vigor. I am not disappointed at all. This reel is very smooth and casts like a dream. The drag is super smooth. The CS8 and this Vigor are on my Colorado pontoon every time I go fishing. Since I’ve only fished this reel for a couple of months I can’t really give a detailed review about durability. But so far I love this reel (and the CS8) and believe it will last for many seasons. Also I disassembled every reel I buy immediately upon receiving them and properly grease them. Every Cadence reel I’ve purchased has not needed any grease at all from the factory. This completely unusual. Every other brand of reel I’ve purchased (Okuma, Pfluger, KastKing and Daiwa have required some grease before taking them out for fishing. Don’t misunderstand, I give high praise to my other brands that I’ve used for several years now. But I really like my 2 Cadence reels for the price I paid for them.

I have never in my life spent more than $100 for a rod and reel, so i tried this one and the matching rod....about $170. It has made fishing much more fun...less swallowed baits to dig out and setting the hook at the right time is so much easier. obviously, i am not a pro, but SO enjoy the sport.

I really wanted to like this reel. The form factor, styling, crank handle, everything said yes. Until I went to use it. There was a spot that rubbed as it rotated, which ruining reeling in. And then the line keeper button looked nice because it was a metal button instead of plastic tab, but the spring was way too strong so the line wouldn't slip under the button. I tried to like it, but it got returned.

This reel is nice, I haven't used it yet, but I will weather permitting. I like to wind a spinning reel and then let it go and see how many spins it does. This reel will spin about 4 times on the handle and then stops abruptly. I reel it slowly and it has some rough spots. I usually only get this effect after I have used a reel for year and caught many fish and then I have to put some lube into it. I know people make mistakes and I'm thinking this is all this is, human error. I would like to think that after putting some lube it'll be ok, but even after wear and tear and I lube a reel, it usually isn't back to factory fresh. And this reel already isn't factory fresh feeling. I like the usual cadence pluses like the round line retention instead of a clip. Plus the rubber grip for putting new line in is kewl. Having 36 pounds drag max is something one usually only get to see in bigger reels. I'm wondering why, though, that with 36 pounds, the reel isn't a bit higher capacity to have stronger pounds test. Doesn't make too much sense to have 20 pound test and 30 pounds of drag only to have a fish break your line. Yeah I know, use the drag not to break your line but to wear our the fish, just well, if your advertising 36 pounds drag and you want to ooh ahh affect, then allow stronger test line to be used with being to able to have a higher capacity. The handle on the reel feels nice. The size of the reel and the weight is just crazy. I can't wait to use it. But having to lube a new reel that should already have the good stuff installed is kinda like saying, well I found something wrong with my purchase, does this mean there is going to be more issues? Made in China with Japanese parts. Why not just have it made in Japan. I bet those perfectionists would have made sure the reel was lubed correctly. I like Cadence products and have pretty much switched most of my rods and reels to this brand. Light, sturdy, and usually a step above, just kinda disappointed with finding a rough spot either with not enough lube, or the snake drive is defective. I hope it's just the lube. So after opening the crank case I found there was very little lubricant inside, like just enough to have the parts lubed. My dad showed me that using brake caliper lubricant on reels is best since it easily applied and is thick and lasts. I used some and though the rough spot is smoother, it is still a rough spot. So I am thinking the snake drive is defective. I don't want to catch a good size fish and have this reel lock on me. The new reel is awesome. No rough spot. Works as expected or exceeds expectations. Very pleased.

I bought this to replace a nearly 30 year spinning reel and have been really pleased with this one. Lightweight, silky smooth and quiet and it casts a light jig a country mile. This reel will be getting a genuine workout often as I bass and crappie fish a lot and I'm hooked (see what I did there?) on this reel.
