I used it on medium heat, didn’t even use butcher paper and held firm pressure for 60 seconds. I had to go back again with firm pressure for probably 10-15 seconds and then it was perfect!

I wanted to like this hat press but unfortunately I returned it due to the inconsistency of the heat. It was difficult to control the pressure and the results were subpar. I couldn’t use the hat plate, it’s too small for most caps. I tried using the press with my cushioned mannequin head for a more solid base but the temperature just wasn’t consistent enough to properly heat the vinyl. This press would be better with an accurate temperature gauge and a taller plate base.
