Used this for the first time today, I was surprised at it's overall quality. I have a few more expensive reels that I prefer this one over. Kinda wished I would have given this one a chance sooner. UPDATE: Sometime during transport in my soft sided rod bag the handle snapped off right in the middle. I messaged the company looking to purchase a replacement, as well as a spare spool or two. They messaged me the next day and are sending me a replacement for free. Super customer service, I'm glad I can put this reel back in rotation as it's become one of my favorites.

I bought this reel based on the reviews. I fish strictly saltwater and I fish most everyday. I loaded this reel with 300 yards of 10 lb EZ braid by spider wire. I’m noticed that I cast 20 to 30 yards further with this reel versus my shimano reel. It is very smooth both on the retrieve and on the drag. So far the largest fish landed has been a 24” speckled trout. I will order again!

I’ve owned this for a year and a half now, so this isn’t just some “I got it out of the box and it’s so cool” review, this is what it’s like living with over time. I’d grown up with, and prior to this had always bought, the cheap big box store stuff. Nothing wrong with that, but I was always a little curious what just a little more cash would buy you. Is there a point in spending $30-100 on a reel if the $10 Walmart special rod and reel combo gets you fishing? I can unequivocally say, yes there is…at least in this case. This reel is super smooth, silky almost. The drag is highly adjustable and not at all the “it’s either practically not there or it’s not going to spool line out even if you caught your neighbors pickup” that I’ve experienced with cheap reels. I was able to cast further, and have yet to experience the “bird’s nest” tangles I have with the bottom of the barrel reels. Adding to my positive experience with the reel, is my positive experience with the company. My wife took a tumble while we were fishing and dropped the rod on a rock, which broke the reel handle. I emailed the company, knowing the reel had a one year warranty and that it was technically broken through no manufacturing flaw. I offered to buy a replacement handle, and instead they sent me one for free. I know that might not seem like a big deal to some but that sort of service is something that you don’t always find, especially if you’re not buying the highest of the high end. All in all, the reel has held up well, it’s caught a lot of fish, and it’s a tactile pleasure to use. The customer service is great and the price paid was extremely reasonable for all you get. For anyone on the fence about buying a slightly more expensive product than what you might find at your local big box retailer, take the plunge. What you get with this reel and this company makes the additional outlay of cash more than worth it.

At $30 delivered (30% coupon, regularly about $40), this attractive and smooth spinning reel competes against the Viper X 1000 by Piscifun($43 delivered), the Bassdash 1000($27 delivered) and not much else for the price. Cadence seems to be above average in service and support. This 9+1 bearing spinning reel compares to 10+1 for Bassdash and Piscifun with the latter 2 having 2 bearings on the pinion vs 1 on the cadence. For UL reels this is immaterial. The start- up inertia on the Cadence is greater than the other 2 and it is heavier and not quite as comfortable. The Viper X is the my winner with its superb customer service.. For $30, it's alot of reel. Also consider the KastKing Centron again with superb Customer service.

Can't believe for the price that this little reel has put up with what I have used it for. Lightweight but will crank in the good sized redfish here in Crystal River. Drag works like it should in a much more expensive reel. Will get a couple more of these for gifts.

The CS4 comes highly recommended. I recently purchased about a dozen low-cost, “off brand” spinning reels thanks to some timely gift cards and a love for fishing. The CS4 is a decent reel, but it doesn’t overshadow a number of other reels at a similar or lower price point. All of the feature work, and it is smooth enough out of the box, but handle effort is not better than similar Sougilang, Gold Sharking, or RUNCL reels. My particular CS4 also has a minor click in the down stroke, probably due to a minor flaw in the oscillation connection. I have cheaper reels that are smoother and quieter. Another great option at a similar price (on sale) is the Okuma Ceymar. So, I would consider the CS4 to be a Decent low-cost reel, but not a steal.

This reel feels great , lite, good drag nice taper on the spool for casting . My only issue is I haven’t cought a fish using this reel yet, It seems the lures I use while using it,I set them up to come in , then catch them on another set up .LOL ONE of these days I get one on it . And I’ll be able to leave a better review .👍🏽👍🏽
