  • Great addition to your fishing collection!
Style: ‎7'0"-medium Heavy-fast-1 Piece
I have spent some time with the CR7 before reviewing and I must say it was a huge value for the money! The action is amazing and it has the flexibility to take on all the lures I have thrown at it! The #1 think I love is the casting distance. I have added 30% more distance with light weight and close to double distance with heavy. I am using a 3000 series spinning reel with the CR7 and 30lb braid. Cast is smooth and no issues. I was worried about the very small end eyelet and that has ended up being an advantage. I have no issues with casting and it clears more gunk off my line that would have make it to my reel. One thing I had a hard time finding was the braided line capacity of this rod, it is 10-40LB. I will also include a picture. I did reach out to Cadence customer service before buying with questions and they were very responsive and very helpful. This is my second Cadence spinning rod and it will not be my last. Hope this helps a future buyer. ... show more

  • First Impression / Quality Rod / **updates below**
Style: 6'6"-medium Light-fast-1 Piece
Just Rec'd rod and this is my first impression. I ordered the 6'6" ML Fast action rod The rod came well packed in a cardboard tube with foam inserts and wrapped in plastic. This is a beautiful rod. Light and feels good in hand. ****The picture shows a split handle rod and I received the full grip instead. After more research I found out that the 6'6" ML Fast action does not come in a split grip***** Kind of bummed about that ***** (I later scrolled down to bottom of page and found the chart <my fault>). Don't know if I am keeping rod or sending it back because I was wanting the split grip. ***Update 11/10 I was leaning on keeping the rod so I found some time to install my reel (Shimano 1000 Spirex rear drag I put a single handle on rather than the two handle version. this reel also has the quick fire trigger on it. <love this reel> they also quit making this version :( Anyway, I got it all set up and this thing feels good. Darn good, Except...…………….NOW THIS IS JUST ME AND MY OPINION AND PROBABLY BEING TOO CRITICAL...the reel seat when screwed all the way in, on the reel, leaves threads exposed. When I grip the rod above the reel (typically like most people and especially with the Spirex reel with quick fire trigger) part of my hand falls down onto those exposed threads. Me being 1/3 OCD finds this a little annoying. Exposed reel seat threads are common on older rods and newer less expensive rods. On the split grip version of this rod I don't see this as a problem (from the picture view.) I have a other brand full grip rod that is shorter and a little heavier but, does not have exposed threads. So. I was really wanting the ML Fast action specs but, probably going to send this rod back and get the Medium fast action that has the split handle. This might be a tad strong for my reel but this rod feels too good to not try. Because of the reel seat threads exposed I would give this a 4.5 star rating. Outside of my OCD this rod is worthy of 5 stars. ***update 11/13** OK, I was browsing these rods again and was looking at the M Fast action rod with the split grip. Put it in the cart and low and behold I could get this cheaper than the good deal on the ML Fast action. Sold, I ordered it and am sending back the ML. I received today and the bottom of the tube was slightly crushed. My fear of ordering a rod on line. I took the rod out and all looks good. Probably because of the foam inserts on the rod. Once in hand and like the ML this thing feels good in my hand. I can't tell the difference as far as weight and action goes. So I laced it up and seated my reel. Everything feels great. Unlike the full grip this split grip has a nice seamless reel seat. No exposed threads here. Very Happy with purchase so far. I will update when I get on water. ** Update 11/20 ** Ok, I had time to take the first rod back. I took to my local Kohl's (Kohl's has a Amazon drop off for returns) and as fate would have it I found a fishing hole behind the store...So I brought this rod Laced up to my Shimano. This rod feels great, Casted great , Looks great....The only small quibble I have is I wish the reel seat part of the handle was maybe a inch longer (That's what she said). Definitely not a deal breaker though. I have average size hands and when gripping the rod with the real my hand would slightly be off the handle. Not as annoying as the single grip one I just sent back. I know this is being picky but Its my honest review. ... show more

  • Bad.
Style: ‎7'2"-medium Light-fast-1 Piece
Rod box it was shipped in was broke in half. Either UPS or the manufacturer tried to tape it back together. Subsequently, two of the eyes were coming off of the rod and I don’t know what damage it may have done to the blank. The reel seat piece came apart as well. Only option it gives me is to return the rod for replacement; however, the rod box is broke and unable to be shipped. Guess I’m stuck with a broken rod or to try and fix what I can of it. ... show more

  • A premium drop shot rod that can handle quality Bass
Style: ‎7'2"-medium Light-fast-1 Piece
I have been an angler for 35+ years and fish for anything that swims. I purchased this Cadence CR7 7'2" ML for drop shot fishing from the bank in summer 2023. I have several Cadence products (CR5 rods of varying types mostly) but this was my first CR7. This rod is excellent value. The components used are premium and the build quality in my experience matches. I have a great deal of confidence in this rod and have pulled a lot of Bass to the bank with it, the largest being a little over 5 1/2 lbs. This rod pairs nicely with a 2000 size reel and is well balanced, it is light weight and feels great in the hand. I can literally go all day with this thing. Using quality braid (Daiwa J-Braid x8 10lb) the feedback while finesse fishing is fantastic and allows me to fish light and feel everything, even the most sensitive of bites. I have many rods that cost a great deal more than this (Shimano, Daiwa, Lews) and i choose this one first if drop shot fishing is what the Bass are demanding. The rod was very well packaged in a protective tube and arrived timely. ... show more

  • As soon as I pulled it out of the package I knew...
Style: ‎7'0"-medium Heavy-fast-1 Piece
I'm not a pro by any means, but I love quality! Sometimes it's just in my head, I know, but in this case, this rod is the real deal. It's a bit stiffer than what I typically like to use, but I bought this for striped bass and salmon on the Feather River. I have no doubt it will do the job. I've only been out once since I got it. It handled better than I hoped. It feels great casting, it has great fast action. I was casting 2 oz weight, with a 4-5 ft leader with frozen anchovies. Threw it almost across the river! I can't wait to get out there more! As for the packaging, it showed up in a very stiff cardboard tube with foam inserts keeping it secure in the center of the tube. I pulled it out carefully and instantly knew I was holding a quality rod. Like I said, I'm not a pro, but I've had a G. Loomis that got run over in the driveway (very frustrating), and it felt and handled every bit as well as the G. Loomis. The other thing I love about it is the business model Cadence has come up with. Benefiting the consumer and the young people. What's not to like about that? I don't have a problem with people wanting to build a successful business of wholesaling and retailing and all the people in between; but the idea that we could get lower prices for extremely high quality gear by cutting out all the fluff is great! I love it! Thanks Cadence! Keep it up! I'll try and load up some pics or videos of some fish soon, I know that's what people really want to see! :) ... show more
