The QD mount is made of a high quality HD aluminum alloy that fits my rifle's picatinny rail perfectly allowing me proper eye relief. The rings provide a nice sturdy hold of the scope and look to be a quality made intricate part of the base. finish on this unit matches my rifle and scope to the T. This scope mount installs easily and is very rigid like only a one piece mount can be. It has a high riser making it most suitable for AR-style rifles. Indeed it attaches to picatinny rail systems, not standard scope mounts. It's a quality Burris product. Included are standard smooth scope ring tops as well as the pictured ring tops with picatinny rails built in. I mount a red dot sight on top of my scope which gives me the ability to quickly acquire sight picture at close range, or use the scope for more accurate albeit slower shooting at farther ranges. The entire mount uses two full length guide bolts to attach to the rifle. Each of the rings has 6 (3 on each side) hex bolts for a secure mount. I suggest tightening them incrementally for the best fit. The appropriate size allen wrench is included. While this mount will set you back close to $90, it's unique design and tactical ability make it worth the price. You could pay far more for Leupold or similar mounts, and this Burris product is just as good if not better. ... show more

    • at first I wasn't sure
I bought this Scope mount over some of the cheaper ones because I was told that if you want a quality product that this was the way to go so I opted for a more expensive scope mount. It is very sturdy and constructed well and so far has been worth every bit of the money I spent on it. I own a Core 15 GTO AR-16 that came standard with the front sight post I wanted to retain my sights as well as being able to have some type of optic on my rifle how ever the front sight post blocks all optics that are mounted to the rail on the receiver I did not want to spend the money to have to buy quality fold down sights, then a gas block, and then pay someone to install them for me or pay for the gun smithing tools to make a one time modification that would remain permanent for the foreseeable future. After doing some research into my need and talking to a friend of mine who owns this mount and uses it on with his AR I decided to bite the bullet and give it a shot, I has some concerns because if you look at how the scope mount lines up on the rifle the scope would be pointing face first into the front sight post, I was assured that this would not be a problem and that the scope would see through the sight post and it would not interfere with the scope picture. This is 100% correct I have no problem with this scope mount and as far as I'm concerned this is the best product on the market, it is more expensive than its counter parts but I can assure you that the product is well worth the money that you spend ... show more

    • American Brand Still Made in China
I recently purchased this mount for my AR-15. Here are the pros: 1) It positions the scope just right for height and eye relief. 2) Comes with smooth and Picatinny ring tops. 3) It is sturdy yet the weight is reasonable. Cons: 1) I paid a premium for this "American made" product. I have purchased several sets of rings for assult or military style .22's I own. They work great and are MUCH cheaper than the Burris AR-PEPR. I decided I didn't want to chance anything on my AR-15 (.223 or 5.56 NATO) so I paid the extra just in case. When I went to mount the PEPR the first thing I noticed was the sticker on the bottom that says "made in China." Whatever... 2) The triple screws on each side of each ring look cool, but I question the purpose. The screws do not seem to be the greatest quality and with three they feel a bit "spongy" rather that fitting snug. 3) The nuts that tighten the mount to the rail seem to be an alloy rather than steel. They don't seem to be very sturdy, especially considering the cost. The mount is great. I just think it is overpriced. It looks super cool, but I think the cheaper Chinese mounts I have purchased were every bit as good, and possibly better. At least my AR-15 was American made... ... show more

    • This solved my scope dilemma!!!!
I used this on a 4-16x50mm scope mounted on a flat rail BCM upper and it worked awesome! It was designed perfect for the AR so that it sits on the upper and not on the barrel. With the rings that came with my scope (dual/straight) my scope contacted the rail which left me no room for adjustment and the flip caps had to come off just to mount it. This PEPR mount gave me perfect eye height placement, perfect eye relief with a few adjustments by loosening the rings and adjusting the scope....not the mount and with the caps on I still have atleast 1/4" of gap. Just perfect! Rock solid once it is on The only drawback is the weight but you know what.....I don't care. The mount was priced nice and I can still hold my AR and shoot it standing....bipod and all. If you are concerned with the weight buy a mount that is double or triple this. ... show more

    • Works really well...Made in China though.
I purchased this mount based on recommendations from magazines and internet sources and the perceived durability from a minimal pieces mount. In this case I put a Weaver T-Series scope into the mount and then mounted it up on an AR-10. It came together very easily and sighted up without problems. I would suggest that one put just a really small dot of lock tight on each of the screws and be absolutely cognizant of torque specifications. I want to see what 100 rounds will do, my rifle is fairly heavy and I believe recoil is managed, but I would think that a lighter weapons with higher energy rounds could be interesting. I would try to find a US made bracket if I bought again; I have had bad luck with Chinese manufacturing (especially metallurgy issues) on many things in the last year. I had assumed that Burris was US made product. ... show more

    • Best AR Scope Mount Period.
Burris P.E.R.P. mounts are on 15 rifles I own. From 1 inch tube 3x9x40 to 34mm 5x35x56 scopes. They are hands down the best AR platform mount. They don't move or flex and hold Zero.
