Like many of you I wanted to dip my toes into the 2.91” optic height, because I occasionally run night vision or thermal setups. For transparency, never had a real problem with 2.26” because I never wear a mask for anything to date. So why only 3 Stars? The build quality on this is surprisingly good and the threads a channels look to be just as robust as my big name stuff. What this clone lacks is the PASS THROUGH CHANNEL FOR THE T10 WRENCH. I cannot emphasize how annoyingly inconvenienced I was by that. The mount does not come with a 90 degree T10 so I had to go all the way over to my toolbox to get one and tediously 1/4 turn the screws a bit at a time. Humor aside, this means you cannot torque them down. Going straight into aluminum means I hesitate with thread locker from bad experiences in the past and this casting is unknown to me. Am I going to move my IRIS over to this? No. Am I going to experiment with my little PID for fun? Yes. So for $50 bucks it’ll tell me if I want to drop the money on the one with the pass through channels so I can toque the bolts and sleep better at night.

Sadly looks like the Eotech 512 does not work with this mount. The AA battery compartment is just a smidge too long to work with something like a 4 in 1 box light/laser. I do think if I choose to change my config that I’ll get another eotech like xps2 with a smaller form factor. I will say, mine came with a pretty gnarly ding on it causing raised metal and two snagging points. I remedied this with some sandpaper and aluminum black/blue solution and water to neutralize and prevent corrosion. Photos of that attached. All in all, for the price, you can’t beat it, just get a smaller sight than the eotech with double a’s 😅
