I grew a goatee, so I figured I needed some sort of special grooming (I'm a senior citizen and this was my first goatee). Honestly, I didn't see a benefit in using the balm, and I really didn't care for the smell.

I purchased this fron my local Walgreens, but as someone who uses a lot of products like this, I just wanted to leave a short review. This, and the beard oil they make that smells just like it, are the absolute worst smelling balm/oil I have ever used. I was hoping it would be like a few other balms that smell bad in the tin but good in the beard, but no. It just smells awful. I gave it an extra star because, as a beard care product, it's not bad. Okay hold, fairly moisturizing, just an awful smell. If you're in the market for this sort of thing, buy it from a different brand. Grave Before Shave makes some great ones, like Bay Rum. Not a bad balm but the smell is very unpleasant. To me it almost smells like bug spray. Not good.

Four stars only because it's more of a cream, than a balm. It's hold is ok depending on your type of beard. I have very dry, thick hair, but overall thinner beard than most. It works great to moisturize the hair itself and leaves a very refreshing sensation afterwords. It has a strong green tea/eucalyptus scent that's very refreshing and helps open up your pours. Moistens the heck out of your beard! Good product in that sense. Light to hold for styling stash and shaping beard. Smells nice clean but rustic, lightly scented. Not greasy or goopy. Product is thin like a thick lotion.

bought this at Walmart and expected better considering it’s a popular company. I was wrong. The balm is not balm at all. It’s basically moisturizing lotion. Has no hold whatsoever and the smell is like tea tree mixed with chemicals. Not good. Spend more $ and get yourself a better balm.
