The Sander has been working perfectly for me. I planed several old boards and sanded them all, love the outcome. I did make a slight modification on the rear belt guard to allow greater sanding opportunities (use of the entire belt). The motor is super powerful, should contribute to its longevity.

The assembly was a bit of a pain, DO NOT lose any hardware. This comes with the exact amount of hardware to build it. I actually got a screw for the stand with mine that had no threads so I had to thread it myself. Beyond that no problem. The main reason I got this over the bench top was because it came with a stand. Not a fan of moving heavy tools around. Good quality tool. I haven't had this unit long but so far the unit seems solid. The assembly instructions are pretty much useless, look at the pictures and it is fairly easy to put together. The dust port does a so-so job it only captures around 50-55% of the dust so I added a 12 x12 hood with 4" hose connection to the back of the belt and by doing that it now collects 95-97% of the dust. The build in dust port is an oddball size 1 3/4" outlet. I have not used the disc sander yet so cannot address that but the belt has plenty of power to do the job and have had no slow down while applying pressure to the belt. Once the belt is adjusted it stays true. It is not a Grizzly or a Jet but for the money you can't go wrong with this unit. I gave this unit a 4 star but would say it is 4 1/2 star. The -1/2 star is for the assembly and dust collection issues. Over all I am please with this unit and hope it holds up as I will be using this almost every day. ... show more

The belt disc sander came on time and was packaged extremely well. Assembly of stand was easy and the belt was set up a the factor and needed no adjustment. This is a good quality product and would recommend to anyone looking for this type of sander.

After 17 years, my dear old Delta sander bit the dust and it was time to bring in a new recruit. I committed to doing some serious comparison shopping, power, size, reliability, price and all that.. and eventually I chose this one. With plenty of horsepower (equal to the old Delta) and a larger disk, on paper this sander was pretty impressive. Out of the box... Not so impressive. I'm not saying it isn't powerful or that it doesn't work just fine. The belt adjusts and tracks fine and the disk runs true. It's even a little quieter than the old Delta. But, there are things in the manufacturing process that were not thought out and poorly made, to say the least. Let's start with the feet. They simply will not mount on the base of the unit. The holes are too far to the side to allow clearance. The miter, was so slobbered up with black paint that the numbers couldnt be seen (in the photo you can see that I've cleaned the paint off of the high points so I could read the markings) and the casting is so degraded that in some places there almost aren't any marks at all. The "dust collector" hugs the belt on top and literally takes up 6" of the upper surface of the belt, making that area unusable and crippling the working area. I will likely remove it. But then, there won't be dust collection. SMH, poorly designed and not well thought out at all. The little stand it comes with has wheels and folding handles. And when you tip it up to roll it, it will knock a chunk of hide out of your shin if you're not careful. I've put it to a different use and mounted the sander on a cart that stores the consumables. I'd love to love it. But, at this point, it will do until it quits. ... show more

Our order got canceled in transit by Amazon with no explanation. We contacted Bucktool to see if they knew why and they were wonderful to deal with. We reordered and had this sander within a week. It's fantastic for sanding woodworking projects. And Bucktool gave us a $10 rebate, which the really didn't need to do; the delivery glitch was not their fault. ... show more

Went together well. Seems to be sturdy. Turned it on for the first time, motor just hums nothing spins. Contacted the company, no reply yet. 2 days I will update once I actually get to use it. Working with Bucktool found the duct work for the disc sander wasn’t secured with four screws. It wedged itself against the disc and created enough drag the motor would not turn. Running perfect now and sands like a beast. Thanks Bucktool ... show more
