Made for quick work removing and installing the valves on my vintage Honda
This tool is just what you’ll be looking for if you’re working on a vintage Honda. Valve spring compressors I found at my local auto parts store didn’t allow me to reach what I need to do to the head shape. This one made the job super easy on my CB160. Be sure to wear eye protection, just in case, and have a telescoping magnet nearby too. Lastly, the only other thing to consider is the handle will slide out of its hole pretty easily. You may want to wrap some tape around both ends of the handle when using. ... show more

Gets the job done.
I used this to installed upgraded (stiffer) valve springs on a set of gt40p heads. The tool flexes a bit and I had to wiggle it around to get the valve locks in but after installing all springs it still held it's original shape. Decent tool for the price.

Valve spring compressor
Works perfectly for all different sizes of valve springs, I would buy it again and recommend to anyone.

Very cheaply constructed tool.
Tool will not stay square to valve spring retainer, very wobbly, would not recommend. Could cause spring and retainer to fly apart under tension. I have already trashed it and ordered a more professional tool.

Worked as it should
Worked as it was intended, good for small engines & light automotive. Not sure how well it would work for heavy duty valves.

Save your money to purchase a real tool.
SO I purchased this tool to do a valve job on my early V-8 289 heads. Nothing special and only standard spring pressure. Upon trying to set it up, I discovered that the plungers did not fit over the valve spring caps so it pushed off center and slid all over the place not to mention it started to disform and spread the "C" shaped frame bar. It would probably work ok on a "SMALL" engine but not a good choice for a V-8 valve job. Save your money to purchase a real tool. ... show more
