Description

American-designed radios, evolving firmware, and real U.S. support—for clear communication from a first handheld to advanced stations. BTECH builds two-way radios for the way people actually communicate—at home, on the road, outdoors, at work, and when plans change. Start simply, then move into advanced features without leaving the BTECH ecosystem. Thoughtful hardware, clear documentation, evolving firmware, and responsive U.S.-based support turn every purchase into a platform built for the long haul. Select models add firmware updates, app programming, GPS, and connected tools that make advanced capability easier to use. Purpose-built choices for families, crews, travel, outdoors, events, and preparedness—backed by clear guides and U.S.-based help. BTECH began with a simple goal: make capable two-way radios easier to understand, own, and support in the U.S. Operator feedback still shapes our products, guides, and firmware. We combine thoughtful hardware, purpose-built firmware, practical accessories, clear documentation, and responsive U.S.-based support. Select models can improve through firmware updates. Clear communication matters on the road, outdoors, at work, and when plans change. We love turning operator feedback into radios people trust. Designed for use with the BTECH UV app for fast setup. Built for licensed amateurs & commercial operators with GPS, APRS, USB-C, Bluetooth, NOAA alerts, and future BTECH updates. *Dual-band (VHF/UHF) lets you monitor and transmit across VHF & UHF systems when programmed for your authorized channels. Built for real field use, the UV-PRO pairs with the BTECH app in three simple steps: Pair the radio, Share or live edit your channel plan, then Go. Use the app to confirm channels, coordinate a group, and share location/GPS tools for events, teams, and off-grid activities. Updates are faster because you manage settings from your phone instead of repeating menu changes on every radio. Pair your UV-PRO with third-party Bluetooth audio like vehicle Bluetooth systems, AirPods, and helmet headsets (Cardo/Sena style) for clear listening and hands-free use. Transmit on your devices using VOX (voice-activated) or tap the BS-PTT to key up. No proprietary headset required. Upgrade with UV-PRO accessories designed to seamlessly work together: BS-22 or BS-50 Bluetooth speaker mics deliver clear, convenient audio while the radio stays clipped and secure. Use the BS-PTT for PTT control with your own bluetooth devices. Ideal for vehicles, job sites, and team coordination. Reliable comms for trail groups and field crews when cell coverage is spotty, plus IP67 dust/water protection to handle rain, mud, and rough elements. Use Global Network Groups to coordinate with remote teammates beyond radio range. Stay connected through the app via phone/internet where available. Built-in NOAA weather alerts help crews react fast to changing conditions for worksite decisions, travel, and emergency preparedness planning. Frequency Sync Rapid Scanning helps you quickly locate active nearby traffic and lock in the frequency so you can match programming faster on-site. Monitor aviation traffic for added situational awareness. Clear air band receive helps you stay informed near airports and flight paths. Share location and track movement for groups and off-grid coordination. APRS adds visibility for meetups, convoys, and field teams. Store and forward voice between radios to maintain coverage when terrain or distance blocks direct contact. Useful for teams spread out in the field. Instantly share your channel plan to another UV-PRO. Keep teams aligned fast with consistent channels, without manual reprogramming. • Great radio
Color: Black
FCC ID: 2AGND-UV-PRO An amateur or part 90 radio license is required to transmit with this radio. This radio is a dual band amateur radio. It receives and transmits on the 2 meter, and 70 cm bands. It also receives the civilian aircraft band. This radio has many unique features. It has send and receive APRS capability. It has transmit and receive I-gate capability. It has digipeater capability (which currently does not work). It has a relay (parrot) function that receives and retransmits the received audio. It has a nonstandard microphone connector. BTECH sells an adapter to allow K1 style accessories. A bluetooth microphone is available also. Transmit and received audio is great. The radio has a mic gain control. The radio is programmed via a smartphone application. Also, most radio functions can be set and adjusted from the app. The app does NOT need to be running for the APRS and other functions to work. The radio has a GPS system and can work autonomously. This radio is NOT CHIRP-Compatible. APRS is awesome, supporting send and receive. It supports all common APRS symbols and allows you to send and receive messages. The I-gate works well, sending received stations to APRS-IS and receiving the same. There is a digipeater function that you run from the app. This radio uses standard amateur AX.25 protocol for amateur use and a proprietary "BSS" protocol for business/Part 90 use. The radio uses AX.25/BSS to identify and indicate position for group use and can display onscreen the bearing of other UV PRO radios in the group. It can also display bearings of received APRS stations. A Bluetooth KISS TNC is now implemented! It works great! You connect it to your computer and run your packet program, directing it to one of the comm ports Bluetooth opens and you are running. This radio has more features than any other analog radio I've ever seen. It is firmware upgradeable, and the app is upgradeable. This future-proofs the radio and allows future development of the unit. I look forward to the future with this series. It is maturing fast! Firmware updates come often. It still has some development to go through yet, before it reaches its full potential; but it is darn close. The price is very attractive. You get a lot with what you pay for. I highly recommend this radio. Edited: Digipeater works, KISS capability, Added fifth star. ... show more

  • BTECH UVPRO is a Winner!
Color: Tan
This is the easiest radio that I’ve ever had to set up! The iPhone app works great and makes programming easier than any radio that I’ve had before. The USB C charging is a great idea and does away with charging stations and quickly charged the radio. The display is brilliant and clear as well as laid out in a simple way. Worth the money, no, well worth the money! Plus it is IP67 protected against dust and moisture! The size is (for my paws) quite comfortable to hold and as far as durability, I will comment on this as I use it more, but it seems to be well able to take day to day usage. I say that this should be an great addition to any HAMS arsenal of radios! ... show more

  • Feature-Packed APRS-Capable Radio at a Fraction of the Price!
Color: Tan
The BTECH UV-Pro has completely exceeded my expectations. As someone who’s used the Anytone 878II Plus for APRS and analog, I was skeptical at first—but this little radio really delivers, especially considering it’s less than half the price. While the 878II Plus may be a better overall radio, the IP67 rating and price make this a much wiser investment to use for your emergency radio kit. ✅ Built-In APRS Functionality (Analog): The UV-Pro supports analog APRS transmit right out of the box (download latest firmware for best functionality), and it works beautifully. I set it up with APRS.fi and tested it on the go—it reliably sent position data with no fuss. It’s not digital APRS like the 878II Plus, but for analog APRS on a budget, it’s hard to beat. ✅ It doesn't support CHIRP, but: Programming the channels direct or thru the mobile app is straightforward. The menus are intuitive for anyone who has used a Baofeng or BTECH radio before. Plus, it supports a ton of memory channels, dual-watch, and scanning options. While the Mobile App offers a one by one editing of channels/memory setup, there is a way to use a .csv file to edit and have the app upload it to save you some time. ✅ Solid Build & USB-C Charging: It feels more premium than the price would suggest. The buttons are tactile, the screen is bright, and the built-in USB-C charging is a modern touch that makes it super convenient for travel or emergency use—no more dragging around a bulky cradle. ✅ Compare to Anytone 878II Plus: While the Anytone 878II Plus has full digital APRS (TX and RX), DMR support, and more advanced features, it comes at a much higher price point. The UV-Pro nails the APRS basics—and for analog APRS transmit, it performs remarkably well. If you're just looking for affordable, reliable APRS tracking with analog radio features, the UV-Pro is a killer value. 📌 Bonus Features: Dual band (VHF/UHF) High-capacity battery Rugged and lightweight Pre-configured APRS settings available via BTECH Full Frequency Transmit Final Thoughts: The BTECH UV-Pro is an incredible option for anyone who wants APRS capability without spending $300+. It doesn't have the Digital APRS like the Anytone 878II Plus, but for analog APRS and general ham radio use, it holds its own—and then some. Easily the best mid-level ham radio available. Highly recommended! ... show more

  • Innovative radio. English support. App needs design changes. APRS is not analog.
Color: Tan
BTECH UVPro review A very unique radio in terms of capability of LTE (cell phone) connectivity, PTT voice, cell phone programming, auto-relay. Power outputs exceed spec. (1, 3, 5W VHF and UHF). Measured at center band, actually 1.8, 4.2, 6.5W VHF, 2.5, 4.2, 7.2W UHF). Despite being the same core company as Baofeng, the headset connectors are not the same spacing as Baofeng! Grrr. There is an adapter cable. Having some trouble sustaining auto-relay (another very useful and unique feature); It re-transmits silence starting with 0-7th transmission after power up, not the voice it's supposed to have recorded. Both radios do it. It features APRS, but it is not ANALOG APRS! Some proprietary digital PNT that does work between radios, cell phone, but not to other true analog APRS radios. Support has been excellent - very responsive, quick, and English. It does have channel "groups", but they're fixed at 30 channels each. Both VFOs must be on the same group - a very nasty shortcoming. No way to back up radio config! Each channel group must be individually programmed from cell phone, uploaded to cell phone, or transmitted to another radio (peer-to-peer OTA); No way to back up, restore, or push ALL groups at once. BTECH app seems to have active version movement, so hopefully these design quirks, shortcomings will be worked out. Optional BT PTT is better built than most I've seen. IP67? Not sure but it does work in a kitchen sink of water. If you try this, make sure the USB-C charge port is completely dry before attempting to recharge it! Same problem with IP67 cell phones, and it's unavoidable without using a seal. ... show more

  • Shockingly Awesome!
Color: Tan
Unbelievable quality and specs for the price. With limited testing in UHF and VHF saw no spurious harmonics. Radio case is solid and passed a brief "dunk" test (fully submerged). GPS location was spot on. APRS appears to work as expected to APRS.fi. Menus are easy to follow. Phone app (I liked the iPhone version and wasn't too sure I liked the Android version) makes individual and bulk programming (via CSV files) a snap - no need for CHIRP. The adapter is M1 (Motorola) and not K1 (Kenwood) as most HTs. Adapters are available for about $20 - ordered one and while it works perfectly the adapter area doesn't seal so I think the IP67 waterproof reliability is gone with any adapter attached. Ordered separately and tested the Bluetooth speaker/mic and it was inconsistent in pairing and connection (returned it). There are so many features on this radio I still haven't tested, but I'm quite happy about quality, features and price! If you've been using the very inexpensive HTs, this is a very good investment and a logical "next step" radio!! (NO - I'm not an influencer - I'm a Ham/SAR guy who needed a radio I can take into the woods and be sure it works - this is a winner!) ... show more

  • SWEET little radio. User interface is one of the best I've seen. Waterproof rating seems legit.
Color: Tan
This is a REALLY flippin nice radio. I just received another radio the same day and just unpacking the UV-PRO was a billion times better. I set it up manually through the keys to my usual channels and it was super simple. After I downloaded the app and went through some of its functions and I'm really impressed. The connection between the app and radio allows for changes in all settings while allowing you to access the talk functions of the radio rather it being one or the other like many radios. I bought this radio SPECIFICALLY for ATAK but it is so nice I'll probably use it over my other radios when I'm not using ATAK too. I thought the price was way too high for a relatively low power 5W radio but it is so much more than its output wattage, I'll be able to use it for search and rescue, Wildland firefighting, off grid AD-HOC systems like reticulum and so much more. Even the box it came in was nice. My only gripe is the two screws for the belt clip attachment are cheap phillips heads and the first one stripped its head the first time I installed it. ... show more

  • I really wanted to like this radio but the app to program it has issues.
Color: Black
I really wanted to love this radio, and there are aspects of it that warrant that love. On the other hand, it leaves much to be desired. The selling point of this radio is that it is essentially an APRS station in a single unit, including both the standard radio functionality plus a built in KISS modem. The problem for me is that I want my HTs to be more than that; they also need to function as one would expect from any HT: multiple channels, easy programming, scanning, sturdy, solid feel, good display, adjustable power output, decent battery life, etc., and to some extent these can be found in the UV-Pro. Well, some of them can be found. The radio is definitely sturdy with a solid feel (and an IP67 rating!) and has a nice color display. Adjustable power is a given these days, so no complaints there. The battery life is on par, too, and when it is time to recharge, just use a USB-C cable. (There is no way to use a charging cradle, possibly as a result of the design of the battery to assist with the radio's IP67 rating.) Scanning is also there, but there is no method of specifying when to resume after a signal is received; the scan just stops. While I do like the hardware, I'm not a fan of how the memory channels are structured (6 banks of 30 channels each) and the programming software, which must be downloaded from the App Store appropriate for your device type, leaves much to be desired. It is simply confusing, to put it politely, and many functions of the radio require the application as it is not possible to set them from the built-in menu system, such as setting the four functions for each of the two programmable buttons on the side of the radio. The manual that comes with the radio only touches on some of the radio's functions, there are multiple paths within the application to arrive at some of the necessary screens, and some of the screens have no explanations given. Please note that the application serves both as a means to program the radio and also as an APRS utility similar to, for example, APRSdroid. I believe it for this reason that it is not supported by CHIRP or commercial programming software, although it may also be that the radio won't support a cable to attach to the desktop or laptop running that software; the application runs on a device (phone or tablet) connected via Bluetooth. Note that the ports on the radio need a special adapter cable to use standard K1 accessories like speakers of speaker/mikes and that cables description mentions nothing about using programming cables, but this would make sense if no programs exist that would make use of that K1 style connection. Finally, the flow of information between the radio and the application can be problematic if one uses the wrong selections within the application. I spent two hours manually entering channel information using the radio menu system only to see it all disappear when I attempted to download it to the app. To say I was disappointed and frustrated is as understatement. That said, the window for returning the radio has passed so at least I have something to occupy my time should I get bored. In the mean time, I'll just use one of my other HTs for chatting while away from my car or shack and will set aside any efforts at HT based APRS operation. With all of that said, why three stars? I give the radio almost five stars for the hardware but knock of two stars for the use of the 30 channel memory banks and the frustrating application. If anything happens to change my mind, I'll post an update. ... show more

  • The best so far.
Color: Tan
Okay to start I currently own and have used nearly every low to high dollar HT radios. The Superhets are worth their weight in price. Their tuners and filtering are truly a cut above 99% of the pack. You will soon know why spending over $300 on an HT has peak coms both in and out. There are only 3 radios that I’ve had people just offer up a signal report right away that include “That radio you are on is Cristal Clear and just sounds amazing”. Followed by “What is it”??? Surprisingly the Uv5r-mini is one of them. It’s is showing up on the bench test to be a very clean radio for the it’s price. My belief is that radio is a trash in thrash out sort of world. Clean going out translates to clean going in. There are so many things that influence clear and notable differences in the way a radio sounds to others. Checking all the boxes. We form an opinion to what others sound like to us. Baofeng has landed a winner at a remarkable price point. However most of us will agree that 5w radios just fall short in being able to push through some obstacles. Many will agree a10w radio is going to fill the sweet spot for a walkabout better over all. B-tech has made its name in being considered an upscale division of Baofeng. Clearly a fact of the matter. The use of a BT Mic has a bad rep in radio. The delays and garbling Tx gives them away every time. They do work without a doubt but with a compromise in quality's in both in and out coms. Now my point here is finding that balanced combo that checks all the boxes while using A remote BT mic. This balance simply does not exist. UNTILL NOW! Both in and out with UV-Pro combo with the BS-22 BT mic. Has a sound apparently breaking the illusion we have had in the belief it can’t be done. I have not been able to actually hear this combo myself. But the reports I’m being offered out of the blue about how it sounds Screams A CLEAR WINNER. Over and over I’m getting this. Now comes the range between the two is not a game changer but nails down a new zero delay or lag aspect that blows away everything I’ve tried. And there are many. 10 out of 10 checking the box’s. Every time. Now comes the 3rd radio. The B-tech once again. The combo of the GMRS-50Pro and the BS-22 rules the roost. I never expected to ever get further away from a radio and maintain amazing reports of how it sounds. Normally any thing over 20ft away from the radio its over. Well not any more!!! How about over 100 ft.??? Or even out to 180 ft. Still working. You will not believe this combo. At 90ft. Penetrating 3 wire fence and 2 cinder block walls with tile. Also 2 slabs of dry wall. Then inside of a bathroom steal stall. NO WAY!! But it’s true. Still able to switch channels through all that. Now to be honest the garble comes on about the last drywall but still able to speak and hear with legible notes. What a pair. Hats off to B-Tech for setting the bar way up there for the rest. Now if we could just fill the gap in 70cm on the 50pro it will be in every house and car over the land. Lack of a MARS mod is the only short coming. Sorry about the short review. Now have 2 of each. And another pro50 for my shop on the way. Down sizing on my collection. Over 25 that can’t run with this combo. The IP64 rating is just a bonus in this pairing. Just get a pair and don’t look back friends. Out!! ... show more
