What initially attracted me to this product was the look of it. With the lack of reviews though I was worried about the quality. The product comes packaged nicely. It came with the following in the package: Multimeter, Normal Test Probes, Alligator Lead Test Probes, Temperature Probe, User Manual, Carrying Bag. The meter did not come with any batteries, and takes 2xAA batteries. The lines on the mat below the meter are 0.5" (inches) for reference in the pictures. It is about 5.75"x 2.91" x 1.34" The probe leads are 31" long and 35" for the alligator clip leads. Definitely shorter than others I have used in the past but not disqualifying. I tested each function on the meter. Everything worked as expected. I measured various resistors, and all the readings were within the tolerance of the resistor. I also measured a few capacitors and the measured capacitance was correct within the 4 figures on the screen. The functions for Diodes, Continuity, AC V, DC V and Current all worked as well. The user interface is very simple, looks much cleaner and is easier to use than the normal rotary dial. The lines on the screen are very crisp. The screen can be easily read outside during the day. The auto-off function is set to 5-min which I feel is a good time for myself. It can also be turned off which is described in the user manual. The beep happens during power on and off, when switching modes, during continuity tests and during the NCV test (May have missed a few though). It sounds like a ~1950Hz triangle wave. There is also a battery level indicator to warn you when the battery is low to avoid misreadings. The materials don't feel low quality. The exterior/case is a thermoplastic elastomer and will resist scratching and absorb some shock if dropped. Time will tell on the durability of this. If there is any degradation outside of normal wear and tear, along with any other issues, I will make sure to update this review as I see fit. Finally, an automatic multi-meter that is fast, accurate, and doesn't jump or creep 99% of the time. Although more of a personal preference and not a manufacturing deficiency, one functional ability I wish it had was a volume setting for the beep/buzzer. Checking continuity can be an alarming experience (especially if you have a dog nearby). The majority of the unsolicited auditable indicators are not needed nor wanted. With that said, the only other design decision the manufacturer made that I am still on the fence about is the continuity BeeeEEEEEEeeeeeP is only enabled/available if you choose the diode test/continuity setting and see the diode icon pop up next to a speaker icon on the screen. Basically, it’s either feast or famine in the audible category. At any rate, it would be nice if an “adjustable tone” was simply tied to the default Ohm check screen and enabled by default or by simply pushing a button. Otherwise, this is a very clean, compact, solid, and quality device that has a very nice screen that is easy on the eyes regardless of your location indoors or outside. Yes, being a good value, it is worth the reasonable price and yes, I believe it deserves 5 stars – even if the (2) AA batteries are not included (which is clearly noted here on the product description page). ... show more

Seems to be pretty accurate and is certainly easy to read. I love the white numbers on black background. The higher contrast is much easier on my eyes to read all the little indicators and symbols esp in lower light situations. You don't have to fumble for a backlight button, its just natively readable in low light situations. My only grumble is that the diode and continuity check are the same function. I'd prefer continuity to show as part of a resistance check like my fluke 117 does, showing the ohms measured rather than forward voltage required from a diode checker. Hey, it was $20 though, so really not gonna gripe about it. I needed a nice field DMM that was inexpensive, accurate, portable and easy to read, store and replace if necessary. Been using it a few months now and so far so good. This little fella hit all those points with room to spare. So what if I don't get the ohms I'm looking for? If I really need that reading, I can just switch over to the resistance measuring function. It's not often I actually require that reading after getting a good continuity test anyway. ... show more

You get a lot of meter for the price with some limitations of course but for everyday probing around, should not be a problem. I would recommend that you get longer leads that are listed for added safety when dealing with higher voltages. This along with the NCV and LIVE functions would go a long way in ensuring you are safe. The accuracy of the readings is good and on par with my fluke and Greenlee meters. They are not the fastest but good enough. Themperature readings are accurate but I would like to see at least 0.1 degree resolution. It seems to be well built but with any instrument, care must be given. I've also had the pleasure of interacting with this company and they seem to be committed and willing to ensuring customer satisfaction. ... show more

I'm plenty happy with this purchase. It was an affordable and feature packed meter. The display works well for me because I'm often working in darkened areas- so no need to activate a backlight or anything. The amp measuring/switching feature is really handy to have as far as protecting the meter. And I found it could measure capacitance that another better meter I had here couldn't. I would recommend this product to anyone. The only real downsides might be slightly short on the leads. And that it keeps trying to shut itself off after a while of waiting for activity. Although I believe you can override that feature, I never seem to do it. ... show more
