Description

Few plants are as stylish and sophisticated as bonsai. These tiny trees are part of a centuries-old Asian tradition of training trees into beautiful forms that exhibit symmetry and balance. Although traditional Japanese bonsai live outdoors, you can enjoy these little trees indoors—in your office, your kitchen, your bedroom, or bathroom. These tiny trees add just the right touch of dramatic decor to any indoor space. Since they come in various sizes they fit perfectly on desks, tabletops and even shelves. Bonsai prefer a bright spot indoors; place in a room where your bonsai will receive a significant amount of indirect light during the day. Water when the soil is dry (about once a week). If the container does not have holes, use approximately half a cup of water, adjust as needed for your environment. Do not let the Bonsai sit in overly soggy soil. The height is approximately 10 inches tall, measured from the bottom of the pot to the top of the plant. The Bonsai in premium, 3.75-inch ceramic planter topped with moss. Tohelp with water drainage, this container does have a hole. The Bonsai is a slow grower depending on its environment and is hardy in USDA Zones 9 or higher. Give it a boost during the warm months of Spring and Summer with a general-purpose fertilizer that is formulated for house plants. Follow the instructions on the fertilizer package for the best use. When the plant out grows the current container, it is time to repot. To repot the plant, gently remove it from its current container and place it into a slightly larger container. The tree is cute. But it comes in a plastic pot. The ceramic pot is separate. It comes with what could only be manure, because it was very hot to the touch. There are no instructions in what to do. Just how to keep it alive. What am I supposed to do? Should I repot it, should I pull it apart? Shouldn’t it already come the way it is described in the picture? Also the clay pot has no drainage, so if you were to repot it in there, the tree is going to die. ... show more

This little Ficus bonsai 'tree' was well packaged....so much so, it took about 5 minutes to pack it. The little tree has new growth. I'm a little concerned about watering and repotting, but that's why there's Google. The little container it came in is very nice; a sort of rough concrete type container. And a unique shape (not just round or square). It even comes with a 'certificate of inspection'. If I don't kill this one in 6 weeks, I'll order another. The positive reviews are reflective of the one we received. The box looked a little worse for wear, but it was packed as if the shipping might be a rough ride. On the plus side the plant arrived two days ahead of schedule,well packages and seems to be quite healthy. However,1) plant was described as 10" from bottom of pot to top of plant, it was only 8". 2) It was also described as growers choice which is fine but nowhere in the info included with the plant did it state what kind it is. How can you care for a plant if you don't know what kind it is. 3) Finally, the bonsai plant itself was loosely planted (and I do mean loosely) in a thin plastic nursery pot and placed in the ceramic pot shown. While I like the pot it does not have a hole in the bottom for drainage if you want to re pot. ... show more

This is not at all what the image looks like. It's nothing more than one stem with a long stick stuck into the dirt beside the one stem with a few leaves. I'm very disappointed with this product. I've never given a product one star but this one deserves it. I could have cut this stem from one of my hedges in the yard. ... show more
