  • Seems to be Quality Tool
I was pleased with the quality of the tool, but I am new and have not had a chance to use it yet. I am looking forward to using it with the included metal blanks, and I am hoping it can be used to put a logo on leather labels to add to bags. I just watched a YouTube video by John Bloodworth demonstrating this tool to engrave metal blanks and that bend into bracelets. I intend to order that also. ... show more

  • Works Great for the Value!
Great product for a 3rd party tool. I was just about to buy a Cricut Maker3 so that I can engrave, but I found this engraving tool from Zoom Precision for the Scan N Cut SDX 125!! Very easy to use and engraves pretty well. The value was great and I didn’t have to buy a Cricut!! Attached is a sample project I did with the sample blanks my order came with. Awesome tool. ... show more

  • Sort of Works
Maybe I have cheap engravables but I haven’t had great results. Lining it up takes a couple of minutes. There’s a video on YouTube explaining how. The machine was worth every penny and the pen adapter is very useful because it holds almost any writing tool in your craft bin.

  • Give it a try!
This is worth the buy. It's not 5 star easy because you really need to know your machine in order to know what settings to use for this tool. I am new to it all. Only other issue is make sure what your engraving is really secure. I used this with my scan and cut machine.

  • Zoom etching tool does a great job.
I was excited to see that my Scan n cut was capable of etching/engraving metal. I watched a few videos on Youtube and thought I would give it a try. The Zoom engraver was incredibly easy to use and the engraving I produced was excellent. I engraved metal tags for my husband to put on his hunting tree stands. He was very happy with the final product. The engraver came with a small selection of blanks, some of which I will engrave with identification information for keys I have. I am also thinking about some jewelry projects for my grandkids. Worth the price. Also, I had no problem adhering the blanks to the mat for cutting. I did see a video where someone cut a hole into cardboard in the exact size and shape of the blank and used it as a jig to hold the blank for cutting. I think that is a great idea if you have multiple blanks of the same size and shape or if you wish to cut multiple blanks at one time. ... show more

  • Update: It DOES fit on the ScanNCut DX
I don't quite know why this happened, but I had a heck of a time getting the Zoom tool to fit in the holder of my ScanNCut DX. When I went to take a photo to send to the Zoom folks, now it fits - not at all sure what happened the first couple times I tried it. OK, so all's well. I attached an acrylic blank to the mat with double-face tape. Set draw speed to 1 (minimum) and draw pressure to 9 (maximum). Scanned the mat to get the blank's position, repositioned my design, and let it rip. (I did get the "attach an appropriate holder" message, clicked OK, and pressed Start again.) Three minutes later, I had my finished product, which you can see in the photo. This is a GREAT thing, but it will void your warranty, so make sure you're past the warranty limit before you try it. ... show more
