This embroidery machine is amazing! Right out of the box in a couple hours including first-time embroiderer basic learnings, the machine was making extremely high-quality designs!! It never ceases to amaze me when you see the design forming on the fabric. Very intuitive to use the machine. It came with the Simthread 40 spool pack but I quickly realized that with advanced designs, I needed more of the colors, and I could not find add-on packs, I had to buy a 63 spool set where 40 of the colors overlapped, so I suggest not doing the bundle and going directly for the 63 set separately. But loved the Simthread polyester thread, it was a bit shiny which made the designs pop and the machine is coded for those colors. Also, love the auto-threading feature and the alerts on bad threading or low bobbin thread! Helped prevent having to re-do parts of the design. I highly recommend pre-threaded bobbins too and this came with one white, so I've ordered more. I would 100% recommend this machine to novices and experienced embroiderers!!! ... show more

    • Don't waste your money on the "bundle"
The Brother PE900 is a great machine. Mine works very well right out of the box for a beginner user. My only complaint is with the bundle that is offered with this. The "$500 in SoFontsy gift cards" is VERY UNDERWHELMING. You can't just choose any font or image from their website - you have to go to a specific web address where the only images available for purchase with the gift cards are so old and outdated it's kind of a joke. They literally have images from the covid days. I specifically bought this bundle because I had gone to the SoFontsy website and seen a ton of cute fonts and images. I am EXTREMELY disappointed by this! If I had it to do over again, I would simply buy the machine then spend the extra $250 on magnetic hoops, stabilizers and thread separately because you'll have to spend money at other places like Etsy to get any fonts or cute designs. ... show more

This is my first embroidery machine. Yes you have to investigate use and learn a few techniques. Brother does a good job with their videos. Then explore other videos as you go. Brother’s Artspira app is a good start w lots of free designs and lessons. I’m glad to have a 5x7 frame.

BUYER BEWARE......I bought this machine thru Swing Design. The machine is great and I am happy with the machine. I would give the Brother PE900 - 5 stars. But the advertise this machine comes with so font gift cards for you to be able to purchase embroidery patterns. The gift cards were not included and after inquiring about the gift cards there was no response from the seller. I will not purchase anything from Swing Design again. Just got into embroidery about a week ago. Such a good machine, definitely beginner friendly. I feel like the bundle was the best way to go, you get a lot for your money. The machine itself is easy to store because it is light weight and easy to move. Would recommend to anyone getting started.
