  • To bidet or not to bidet...
Style: Fixed Dual Nozzle
After having this for 6 weeks I can say it is one of the best purchases I’ve made in a long time and I recommend. It was easy to install, might need some WD 40 to get the valve things loose on your toilet but, pretty simple. I am NOT mechanically inclined and I did it without calling 911 for help. Read the step by step instructions, simple easy, have some WD 40 nearby ( not for the product, but for your plumbing valves if they haven't been loosened or tightened in a while). Less tp down the sewer, save $ buying TP the rest of your life, save trees from being cut down to make TP ( humans use 270,000 trees per day globally to make TP) Efficient and enviro friendly all the way around. If you live in an apartment - take it with you if / when you move. There are 2 sprayers one for front, one for back, and there is nothing cleaner! You can adjust the water pressure as high or low as you want, and it can powerwash your behind LOL - careful not to blast yourself clear off the toilet! You can have a low, gentle water pressure or the powerwash. You can practically get a colonic every time you go to the bathroom if you wanted to. LOL These should be a requirement for every home because you save so much for sewers to break down and you keep more $$$ in your pocket in the long run and it saves trees from being cut to make ... TP what a waste. Once you get the hang of it you only really need tp to dry off, far cleaner! It’s like taking a shower every time you go to the bathroom! There is no hot / cold option on the model I bought, I don't mind, it works great. I think the best thing is just how clean you feel - you basically only need to use TP to dry off. LOLOLOL… but seriously! Cleanliness is next to godliness. ... show more

  • LOVE it! Specific answers for those on the fence.
Style: Fixed Dual Nozzle
I had been wanting a bidet for a few years. Who doesn’t love the idea of a cleaner bum? Occasionally I’d browse, and think about splurging someday. Then the great TP shortage of 2020 hit. I spent hours (months!) researching and reading reviews. Eventually I just had to “commit” or get off the pot, so to speak. I took the plunge on the Brondell Thinline Simple Spa and I am SO glad! I had read about every possible negative, so when I hit that “buy” button I still worried. Will it fit my toilet seat? Will it leak? Will I need to risk the crazies at the hardware store to get more parts? Is it too cold? Will it look tacky? Two nozzles or one? Will it blast me into outer space? If you also have those questions, here are my answers. Installation: Very simple. It took me about 30 minutes, only because it was a little tricky to get the main adapter to thread with the washer inside. It was barely deep enough to grab the tank pipe. Be patient! Make sure it’s perfectly even and go slow. I am not a patient person so this was my challenge. I even looked through my washer box for a thinner washer - don’t. The one they send us a custom fit and you don’t want to mess with that. Everything else was a breeze, and I didn’t need to go get extra parts. Always a win! I installed it about 3 weeks ago. No leaks at all so far. Toilet seat: Ours is plastic and does have some curve on the sides. (See photos.) That was as an issue in many reviews across all of the brands, so I was afraid I’d need to go buy a new seat. Not a deal breaker, but an extra hassle. I was *thrilled* when it fit right away! No extra trips to the hardware store, still winning! YMMV, but I have NO gaps and no worries about the seat bending or cracking. It feels solid, no wobbling or sliding around. Looks: This thing is sleek and modern, I think it looks much better than the rest in this category (which is honestly why I gave it a shot). It fits the clean lines of our mid-mod house and general aesthetic, and I think it would look good with any modern decor. The thin profile is unobtrusive and the flat controller does not get turned on accidentally by our big dogs, or by my thighs. (Note: the thing hanging on the right in these pics is not part of the bidet, it’s a color changing LED nightlight we got as a gift - it’s fun.😁) Cold water only: Our toilet is in a small “bomb shelter” separated from the vanity and outlets by a wall and a door. So it had to be a cold water only, non-electric attachment. A friend had recommended a warm water, heated seat, fancy-pants model costing hundreds, but that was beyond my budget. Installing an outlet for my first butt washer also seemed excessive. It may be different in a cold climate, but where we live the climate is hot, humid, and downright GROSS. “Swamp-ass” is real, y’all, and it’s not fun. This bidet is a life-changer! It’s not freezing cold, it’s more like an outdoor shower at the beach or the pool. SO refreshing! Now I get to take a mini-shower several times a day and it’s like being on vacation! Dual nozzle: A single nozzle would probably have been fine for a newbie but I actually do use both. The “front” one is a little softer so my husband uses both, too - you can sort of lean forward or backward to get the right aim. This dual is not a “self clean” model, but clean tap water runs through every time you turn it on, so... it’s still cleaning itself. The little gate keeps them protected when not in use, so a spritz during your normal toilet cleaning schedule should be fine if you have concerns. Blast level: Can go from drinking fountain level to pro power washer level with a small twist. Warning - twist very, VERY slowly to start out! There are pressure adapters available but we don’t need one at this point. We’ve learned to respect the power of the bidet and go easy, but we are the only ones who use it. If you have it in a guest bath you might give people a heads-up. :-) To sum up, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this Brondell Thinline!! I hope this is helpful to anyone still reading reviews and trying to decide. Your booty will thank you. ... show more

  • I am very fat, and it works perfectly for me.
Style: Fixed Dual Nozzle
TLDR: 1. Installation took two hours. 2. I am very fat, and was worried this wouldn't aim correctly. No problems. 3. Cold water only isn't a problem. 4. Get a dual nozzle. I started installation at 7 PM. an hour before I was supposed to cook dinner. I finished at 9 PM, when I was supposed to put dinner on the table. We had chicken wings that night. There were two things that made it take that long. First, the right-hand bolt in the toilet seat did not want to move without a lot of wrenching, and the toilet is really close to the vanity on that side, so you can't get a good angle on the wrench. The other is that as soon as I touched the feeder line from the shutoff valve to the toilet, it sprang a leak. It had been in place for at least fifteen years, so I can't complain, but then I had to make a Home Depot run. I would recommend having a spare feeder line on hand if your toilet has been installed for a while. As for the bidet itself, I followed the directions literally and attached the hoses one at a time in situ. It would have been a little easier if I'd followed my instincts and attached everything while it was still on my desk, minimizing the amount of fiddling I had to do while reaching under and around the toilet. However, everything went together perfectly. I had no leaks on the first shot, and I didn't need the teflon tape. I am fat enough that I have to worry about things like, if I go to the movies at this theater, can I fit in the seats? So I was worried that I wouldn't "fit" a bidet. If you're not this fat, you probably think that's hilarious. If you are, you've been there. So I am pleased to report that it works just fine for me. This is a cold water only model. We are currently having a cold snap here, so if that were going to be a problem it would happen now. Truth is, it doesn't use that much water, so you're getting water that's been in the feeder hose in your (presumably) heated bathroom. I got the dual nozzle version, which I think is essential, and at least one nozzle will hit every spot in the undercarriage. As advertised, the part that goes under the toilet seat is very thin, so it's not going to change the angle of the toilet seat and maybe make it crack. Bonus: My husband has no interest in the bidet. I didn't even tell him I was getting one until it was here, and he's still looking at it doing the confused dog head tilt. But he did gamely let me show him how to use it. Oh my people, I will never forget the look on his face! On my deathbed, as the last flame of consciousness flickers out, I will remember his expression and giggle. Totally worth the purchase price for that alone. ... show more
