I'm using this on a gas stove on top of the standard cooking grates. It heats up quickly, and retains heat well. It's not as capacitant as a cast iron pan because it isn't as thick. For that reason it also has amore localized hot spots. Good cooking surface and easy to clean. Probably excellent on the gas grill with a less localized heat source. ... show more

I have a large commercial gas grill, that can produce temperatures easily above 700 degrees F. I wanted a cast iron element for certain cooking techniques, i.e., burgers, blackened chicken, grilled veggies, etc.. I was drawn to the size and weight of this product and so I purchased. I seasoned the Griddle and brought it up to an extremely high temperature. It did not crack or split and has worked wonderfully for over a year.
