Description

Aerating the soil between plants and food plots in a garden in the spring is necessary for optimal growth, but hoeing larger gardens by hand can be labor intensive and time-consuming. The Brinly tow-behind Cultivator is the easiest and most efficient way to aerate the garden soil to encourage plant growth and discourage weeds from taking root. All of which can be done from the seat of a garden tractor.

  • Works great!
Color: Black
Works well after I broke new ground on a 25’x25’ garden. Used to mix manure in also before I made my beds/rows. Must modify back of tractor with a special hitch to work. There is one photo here where they person is doing it completely wrong by just attaching it to the factory tow point on his/her tractor ... show more

  • The field cultivator works great, after a few modifications...
Color: Black
First, there are two bolts that aren't long enough, so you will need to buy those. Second the c-shanks do not have a bolt hole near the bottom (like the picture shows). Two issues with that - 1) cannot ever place a sweep on the shank without drilling a hole and 2) cannot mount the depth gauge to the outside shanks. So I added a smaller angle iron across the back connecting the two larger angle irons. Then I was able to mount the included depth gauge to the new angle iron. Otherwise my 14 hp Cub Cadet pulled it just fine and did not need extra weight on the filed cultivator itself. ... show more

  • Good cultivator, with caveats
Color: Black
I was surprised at how well this thing performed. I ran across a few rows of peas and okra that were a couple of inches high with no problem after I removed the two innermost tines. With them installed, it would have been too close to avoid digging up some of my plants. But later I installed all of the tines and ran down the middles, and it did a good job there. It was pulled with a 26 HP Craftsman with turf tires and no weights, and there was no slippage that I detected. My biggest beef is that there is nothing built-in to laterally stabilize the implement. It would wander all over the place unless there was a plate at the hitch that would prevent it from destroying your crop. I had an old, worn-out mower blade that slid into the hitch and I was able to snug up the bolts so that it would not wander. Problem solved, but Brinly should have that built in. Just be aware that there is minimal vertical clearance over a row with these garden tractors, so you could damage your crop if it's more than a couple of inches high. Solve that problem by making your rows wide enough for the tractor to run down between them. ... show more

  • If you bye this plow you will have fun with it
Color: Black
Great little plow just wish that I had been the one that invented it. If ya find a blade of grass in my garden now it belongs in there.

  • The amazon pictures are better than the directions
Color: Black
Went right together, tested and worked great. However: Assembly instructions omit, or seem to omit, center blade which is required. Lacking 1x 1/2 washer got an extra smaller so extra 63 cents at Ace Hardware, no biggie.

  • Sturdy and effective
Color: Black
It's simple to assemble, but it will take some work. Does its job beautifully. We use it on a lawn tractor. Don't back up with it or you will bend the guide bars. They're easy enough to bend back in shape, but still not a good idea.

  • Excellent
Color: Black
1/2 acre garden with ease. Use 2 cinder blocks and wire down. Go slow. Tears out roots size of my fingers! Excellent. Glad I have one. Easy to use and clean. (Does not include Hitch Pin) needed

  • Better than expected
Color: Black
When reviewing this before purchasing, it didn't look to sturdy. I was wrong. It is built quite well and holds up .
