Replaced a 26 year old, 4 bulb fluorescent light fixture in our kitchen with this. It looks nice, but I need to get clear glass bulbs that put out bright white light to make it brighter. The fixture is fine, but the installation took longer than it should have. 1. Be sure your mounting screws are in the 2 opposite holes that are 2-3/4 inches apart. There are 2 other holes closer together, but the holes in the fixture are 2-3/4 inches. 2. Because the fixture is square, as opposed to a round base that could mount any way, this has to line up properly on your ceiling. Because of that, the mounting plate that screws onto the electrical box on the ceiling did not have slots in the exact spot I needed them to be in order to mount the light squarely on the ceiling. I eventually had to drill a hole on one side of the mounting plate in order to get it in the proper position. 3. Getting the 2 mounting screws through the 2 holes in the fixture is a little tricky. I finally got them through the holes when I was facing perpendicular to the 2 screws as opposed to one of the sides that had the 2 screws in line with each other. 4. And because it's such a hassle to get those screws through the holes, you don't want to have to take it down to adjust the length of the mounting screws. The 2 decorative caps that screw on to hold it tight to the ceiling don't screw on very far, so do your best to measure and set the length of those screws in the mounting plate to the proper length to start with. If they are too long, you'll have to remove the fixture to screw them in further so the decorative caps will hold the fixture snug against the ceiling. I'd probably plan to set them on the shorter side than the longer side so you have just enough to screw on the caps and tighten it to the ceiling. 5. Good luck!! ... show more

Purchased 3 flush mount units, 4 light coastal Chandelier, & 5 light Coastal Chandelier. All Antique Bronze. My Electrician put them up & said the chandeliers were a little challenge & took some extra time to put up. Provide amazing lighting & love that I could match all my lighting in my kitchen/hall/dinning room remodel. I used lightbulbs ( TJOY LED Dimmable EDISON BULB SIXPACK - 2700 K, 8W, E26/ST58/ST19) recommended by another viewer & extremely happy how BRIGHT the lighting is.! ... show more

This fixture is gorgeous! I put three of them on our patio, and they look amazing! I did install them myself with no help (39 year old woman with no electrical experience). Just had a ladder that was about a foot shorter than the ceiling, so I could rest the fixture on top. However, the install was quite difficult and time consuming. The bracket that came with the fixture would not attach to the box with the screws that go into the fixture being the right orientation so that the fixture was squared off on the ceiling. I had to get a swing bracket from Home Depot, which worked fine. Then the screws that come with the fixture are too long so I couldn’t get it flush to the ceiling - and couldn’t move the screws up in the swing bracket because they hit the edge of the box. So another Home Depot trip for shorter screws. There’s also a bunch of insulation which can make it difficult to put the screws through the holes in the fixture. But the insulation is perforated where the screws should go through, so I put on gloves and used a finger to create a larger opening in the insultation to get the screw through. Like another reviewer said - look through the holes in the fixture like binoculars and locate the screws to guide them through. Installing all 3 fixtures took me forever, but I absolutely love how they look, so it was worth it! ... show more

Overall we are happy with these lights. I bought and installed two of the double-light fixtures and two of the single-light fixtures. The first two were difficult to install, but the next two went a little smoother as I figured out how to install them. I have installed dozens of light fixtures and ceiling fans over the years, but these are not very intuitive and the instructions are not very clear. Obviously they were trying for the universal pictorial instructions so they wouldn't have to translate into 22 languages. But, the pictures are not at all clear. I included a copy of the instructions because some customers said their lights didn't include them. A couple of pointers. First, be sure to line up the two mounting holes on the light fixtures and make sure you put the "D" screws in the proper threaded holes. Double check your work and make sure the screws line up with the holes in the fixtures after you install them to the round mounting plate. If they're off a little bit you will never get the light fixture installed. I gave these 4 stars instead of 5 because of two things. First, the aforementioned instructions that need to be more clear and should offer tips for installation. Second, the hardware that's included is cheap and flimsy. The "threaded" portions on the round mounting plate are poorly threaded, easily stripped and do not hold well. Also, the "D" screws should be replaced by studs that have a slot on one end so you can easily adjust the length prior to installing the finish nuts. Better instructions and better hardware and I would give these a 5 star rating. The bulbs we bought were from Lowes. They are dimmable LEDs (60W equivalent). I included a photo. Very happy with how these bulbs look with these light fixtures. They complement quite well. Bonus that they are dimmable in case you want that option.
