I brewed this and it came out very good. My one word of warning is that it is an English style pale ale - the closest beer I can think to compare it too is probably an Old Speckled Hen. As a British Expat living in the states, I should have known it wouldn't be as light and hop-forward as an American Pale Ale, but I was very happy that it came out to be a good, relatively light but flavor packed sessionable English pub bitter. ... show more

Quality kit and makes a very tasty beer. It ended up being a little bitter for just a pale ale, more like an IPA. This could have been the result of my inexperience brewing.

Brewers Best kits are great. If you're just starting to brew, the instructions are very clear and easy to follow and all ingredients are clearly labeled and premeasured. If you're an experienced brewer, you can always change the recipe by adding something to make it your own. This was a pretty decent brew. Came out around 6% with a good bite of bitterness and hop flavor. I added some cascade dry hops with mine (can't recall if it was in the recipe or not).
