Ever wanted to make your own home brewed beer but didn't know if it was right for you and didn't want to break the bank? well then, this 1 gallon beer brewing equipment kit is for you! this is a complete kit that includes all of the 1st time fermentation equipment you will need to ferment your first 1 gallon batch of tasty homebrew. This little kit is great. It had a lot of items for a beginner to get started. It was cheaper to buy this kit than all the separate parts from my brew shop. I had actually gotten it for the 1 gallon batch size which lets me experiment in smaller batches so I if I mess it up, I don't feel so bad about throwing out the beer. All of the items are pretty much what my brew store carries. If you are just thinking of getting into beer making, I would recommend getting this before investing in individual items from a brew store. Then, fill in whatever else you think you might need afterwards. As a matter of fact, while I was waiting for this to come, I bought a bottle brush forgetting that this came with it. ... show more

My 2 gallon bucket leaked. Lid did not have a gasket. I use a little big mouth carboy now (from Northern Brewer) exclusively for my one gallon brews.

**Update** After brewing my first 1 gallon recipe I would recommend using a refractometer instead of a hydrometer for small batches in this range. There are conversion calculators available for calculating the gravity of the fermented beer. Otherwise everything in the kit will work for this purpose. There is a lot of bang for your buck with this kit. I'm new to home brewing and I needed a kit to start out with. This has everything you need and then some. It even comes with a hydrometer for measuring alcohol content and a bottle capper. A bottle capper will run you $10-$15 by itself on Amazon. I highly recommend this kit for somebody just starting out with one gallon batches. You'll be able to use everything here again and again. It even has an auto siphon and a bottle filler! Kit was well packed and nothing was broken when it arrived. The 2 gallon pail makes this a very nice kit! I have a batch of Orange Meade brewing and just bottled an IPA. Good Fun!

    • Great small batch brew kit!
For a small batch brew, this kit is hard to beat. After receiving was surprised everything included. Beat my expectations and, if later upgrading, I see myself reusing parts of the kit.

Kit was missing several items including LCD thermometer, lab thermometer, instructions, hydrometer, air lock, and test jar. I am awaiting reply from seller to resolve this issue. Update: eventually the missing items were sent. It's not a bad kit if you are looking to get your hands dirty. I still use the bucket to make small one gallon experimental batches. ... show more
