Description

Everywhere our customers are raving about this kettle screen. This is the best stainless steel mesh to replace a false bottom in a mash tun or boil kettle for lautering worth or filtering whole hops. A must have! You cannot beat the convenience of a stainless steel multi-purpose mash/boil mesh screen. This all stainless steel kettle brewing screen is made from heavy duty 304 stainless steel. It can be used for straining hops in a boil or for use in a mash tun instead of using a false bottom. The screen is 12" in length, 1" in diameter, with a 1/2" MPTT fitting at one end. This fitting will thread directly into the inside of your brew kettle, or into the back of any line of weld-less ball valves, allowing you to better filter trub or whole hops from your worth while transferring from your kettle to your fermenter. Excellent for straining out leaf hops in the boil kettle (pellet hops can clog the screen). We also have several customers who use this as a screen in their cooler mash tun. Click the button at the top of this page to start brewing now.

  • Quality looks good but...
The quality looks good but mine came with a small foreign object (bug?) lodged between the screen where it was pressed together. Since it is on the inside, I have not been able to remove it. I've boiled it, used a toothpick and stiff brush and have only gotten half of it out. Really not sure what it is but I'm not thrilled about it. 12/16/15 Update - Fantastic customer service took care of my issue. I highly recommend. ... show more

The kettle screen worked pretty well but not any better than the makeshift version I used prior to this purchase. I expected the flow of wort to be better, but overall I'm pleased and it was only a fraction of the cost that home brew shops charge for the same item.

  • Good quality - Works great. Easy to Clean.
I have a 8 gallon MegaPot boil kettle, this screen is a bit too long for it. I had to bend up the end of the screen so it would fit inside. No big deal. Works like a champ. Easy to clean - Use a hot glove to detach it from the kettle, hot water rise and I use an old tooth brush to get off any stuck particles. ... show more

bent the end a bit and it fits in the bottom of my 6.5 gal primary, and screws right into the spigot from the inside. i mash in my 10 gal, then strain and sparge in my primary right back into my 10 gal.

  • Awesome product
Works excellently; clogs rarely; cleans easily. The half-inch fitting was the wrong size for the mash tun I set it up in, so check and see if you need to buy an adapter when you buy the screen. Not much else to say!

  • Great Product and Excellent Service
Very sturdy and fit just as expected. Only issue was that it was a little long for my 10 gallon Igloo cooler setup so I had to make it fit which was no big deal. I'd recommend this to anyone.

Inexpensive, OK design. Screen not held together tightly at the threaded end, but so far hasn't come out, so I'm satisfied so far.

  • Worked as advertised
Only used this twice so far and have never tried a false bottom. Therefore, I have no frame of reference, but I have zero complaints.
